Something has been awaken inside of me, something I can't explain. It flies in my stomach every time I catch him looking at me. His green eyes flash across my face and I involuntarily feel my cheeks get hot.

I'm twiddling my thumbs in my lap, sitting cross legged on the end of his bed, his tapping away at his computer looking up who knows what. My phone starts ringing in the silence, making me jump.

"Hello?" I ask hesitantly as Toby glances at me over her shoulder.

"YOU DIDNT TELL ME YOU AND TOBY WERE GOING ON A DATE?!" The voice screams in my ear.

"Hi sky." I reply and Toby smirks.

"Hi to you to, so anyways Toby told me the details and I know exactly what you should wear. I'm in Toby's driveway now so you can come over and I can get you ready."

I glare at Toby's back and reply "sure I'm coming down." Then I hang up.

"Your despicable." I tell him walking out of his room and down to the front doors.

"Ouch Sky stop pulling!" I shout as her as she tugs my dark hair to brush it out.

"It's not silky yet!" She screams back, continuing to rip my hair out.

Finally she quits, just to tuck it up in a French braid that falls down my back.

"Done?" I ask but she shakes her head no, pulling on the French braid to loosen it, making me old the baby hairs around my hairline.

"Ok now I'm done" I sigh in relief.

"Time to get you dolled up!"

I groan.

After Skylynn's makeover I gotta say I don't look too shabby. My hair is still in the loose braid, which is perfect so it doesn't fall in my eyes. My makeup is minimum which I'm a bit skeptic about but apparently Toby told her the plans and for some reason I can't wear a lot of makeup.

But I'm not really complaining about that one.

My outfit is dressy casual so I don't have to wear a skirt, another score.

Seriously Toby knows how to create a perfect date for me.

The dark skinny jeans fit me nicely and are flattering enough without showing off my butt like a prostitute. My sweater is super comfortable and has a little orange fox knitted into it so it's warm and I mean... Come on, it's a baby fox.

My feet are in some wearable black and white converse so, pro.

The doorbell rings outside and I hear Skylynn's dad walk towards the door to answer it but Sky shouts him out, bounding down the stairs to push him away. She looks up the stairway, mouthing 'go' to me and pushing her parents into the living room. She chucks a canvas bag at me once I make it to the bottom of the staircase, pointing the door animatedly, shoving her family into the kitchen.

I bite my lip, opening the door to see Toby standing there in dark skinny jeans and a sky blue t-shirt that complements his eyes. It's fitted, showing off his muscles, making me bite my lip harder.

"Ready to go?" He asks.

I glance behind me where I see Skylynn and her parents peeking out from behind a corner. The look on their faces is so...proud. They aren't even blood related to me yet they are so happy for me. I've made so many troubles for them yet they act like they still love me.

How does someone as hopeless and pointless as me end up with such great people?

I turn back to Toby.
