Six- Percy

Today is the first day I'm staying at Ms. Rich boy Toby's mansion. To say I'm annoyed with this entire situation would be an understatment. I only have one thing I've ever been able to consider home, my little hay loft bedroom and now because of the promise I made to Tomas, I can't stay at the only place I've called home.

I shove Skylynn's cloths into a suitcase cause she's not letting me step foot on the lawn until Tomas gets here at the end of the week. I sigh, zipping it up and walking downstairs, listening at the bottom to Sky's call.

"Um... I guess, where are you?"

Muffled talk on the other end.

"Percy isn't going to like this."

So it's Toby.

"Ok. Ok fine, yes, I'll drop her off there."

And she hangs up.

Where is she leaving me with that devil?

I enter the living room, seeing her starring at her phone like it's the most frustrating but amazing thing ever. I guess maybe smart phones are? She chucks her phone on the couch with a groan, finally noticing me. I cock my eyebrow, daring her to change plans.

"So, yeah, let's go." She turns around, rushing towards the door, leaving open behind her.

I moan, trudging behind her, slamming the door behind me. I think I hear a crash so I creak the door back open, seeing a broken lamp.

Oops.

"Where are we even going?"

"To meet Toby."

"Don't you dare leave me with that he-devil."

"Isn't the devil already male?"

And that's how she sucsesfully diverted my attention towards the problem at hand, and we got into a huge arguement over the devil being a spirit medium and whether or not 'they' have chromosomes.

"Here!" She shouts.

We've been driving for almost an hour, why the heck could Toby be way out here, "Where's here?" I ask.

"You'll see!"

I stubbornly cross my arms over my chest, not moving. Sky sighs, getting out her side and dragging me out my side. I roll onto the ground, crossing my arms again and starring up at the white clouds painting over the skyline. Skylynn puts her head in my vision the same time Toby sticks his big head in too, dangling a pair of handcuffs in front of my face. And of course my curiosity gets the better of me.

"What are those for?" I ask, trying to snatch them from the air like a cat with string.

"Help me and you'll find out." Toby teases me, playing me like a fool.

I glare at him, getting up from the ground, not because he asked nicely, because the grass is straining my cloths. At least that's what I'll tell myself. Sky smirks, walking back to her car and while I shout protests and try to open the doors she locks them and drives off, leaving me with this he-devil, we decided it didn't really matter if the devil had XY or XX chromosomes. But I still totally one that argument.

"What now?" I ask in response to Toby's grin.

"You're going to handcuff me to a tree."

A sly, creepy smile forms over my face and I'm excited, "Ok! What tree?"

I stare around the construction site, seeing only one tree, that must be it. I grab the handcuffs from him, dragging him towards the tree. He places his back to it, letting his arms loop around backwards. A plan forms in my mind, and I walk around him, knocking 'accidently' into his shoulder, slipping my hand in his pocket and taking his keys, stuffing them into my sweatshirt.

"Sorry, clumsy." I explain, giving a sheepish smile before snapping on the handcuffs.

"Great, now we just gotta wait until the construction workers agree to leave the tree here."

"Or I could leave."

"No, you can't."

I twirl the keys around my finger, giving him a playful, innocent smile. He scowls, growling "Give it back."

"I would, except, you can't make me, you're tied to a tree." I point out with a smile, "Actually, I could do whatever I wanted."

I walk over to him, placing my hand on his hip, playing with the fabric under my fingers. I lean up towards his face, whispering in his ear, "Have fun." before pantsing him and turning around, walking to his car.

I twist the keys in the ignition, roaring the car to life and backing out. I drive down the street, greatful his car has a GPS to direct me back to my house. I pass Ricky's car on my way out of the area, Toby won't have to stay that way for long.

I get into the driveway of our little barn lot, thinking this was a really stupid idea, and being so mean to Toby, after all he's doing to help me, I'm an idiot. I get out of the car anyways, I'm already here, besides I don't see his truck. I duck into the barn, climbing up into my bedroom, closing the trapdoor and huge window. I grab random cloths from my shelves, stuffing them into my already bulging bag, I make sure I have my charger and phone, my wallet and anything else I'll need. I open the trap door, throwing the suitcase down before falling down with it. I land, opening the barn door and struggling with the case towards the car.

"Hello Percy." I hear a slurred yet sickening voice.

I wince. "Hi."

"Going somewhere?" He asks about my bag.

"No, just...throwing some old stuff out." I lie, still not facing him.

"DON'T LIE TO ME!" He shouts, his fist colliding with my back, making my entire body shove into the car.

I drop the case, dragging myself away. He bellows, I don't think I've ever seen him this drunk before 5 o'clock. He grabs me around the torso, throwing me against the ground, making my head snap back. He starts ferosiously kicking my stomach and ribs. I scream through my clenched jaw, tucking myself up into  ball. He pulls out a cigar, lighting it before kneeling over me and pressing the light part into my spine. It burns holes in my back that I know while scar it forever. He mutters curses and insults under his breath to me, but by know my ears have stopped working, my feeling has been taken over my pain, my vision starting to paint black spots. My mouth is dry and tastes like straw and I know that if I go unconsious, I won't wake up.

His mouth is open, screaming, making my ears bleed. He shoves more cigarettes into my back, almost like he's a kid, finger painting with fire, making a picture with my back as the canvas. He grabs a beer bottle that was laying in the grass, swinging behind his head, smashing it into my stomach, leaving shards of glass. I almost don't feel it, the drosiness taking over my body, dulling out the pain.

'Just let be over.'

'You can stop the pain.'

'Just close your eyes.'

I see my real parents, my adopted mother and sister, even a younger me, all of them standing before me, each giving a hand out to me and I want to reach them. I lift my hand up, wanting them to stop it, stop the pain, the hate, the drunk screams. Suddenly to my left is Tomas, Skylynn, even Toby and Ricky, all smiling at me, reaching out to me, wanting me to come to them.

I want them too.

I lift another hand towards them, knowing they can help me deal with it, help me stop it.

I want them.

But both groups disapear before I can make up my mind, and my world is surounded by darkness. I can feel my eyes close and the pain leaving my lifeless body.

Maybe I can just stay here, a play between life and death, a place everyone eventually visits.

It's nice here.

A/N:

Please don't hate me.

The book is obviously not over.

I haven't even gotten to the climax yet.
