BASHAR
"Baby we here," I murmured as I shook her body. She groaned and twisted for a minute before her body sprung up—scaring the shit out of me. My eyes grew wide as she glanced around, looking lost. "Eva," I said, bringing her attention to me.
She looked at me, blinked, and then laughed. "See, that's how you know the nap was good. I woke up wondering where the hell I was," she explained as I helped her out the car. "Scared me half to death," I muttered.
After a short ride on the elevator, we arrived on floor 15 and walked two doors down until we found my suite. Opening the door, I let Eva enter first and closed the door after me. I found her staring at the midnight-blue and gold themed room. The walls were lined with drapes of blue, creme, and auburn. Suede chairs of Midnight blue and auburn sat before a wide couch. My favorite part was the spiral lights that formed a tight circle in the very middle of the ceiling.
"The floors are so pretty," she said as she looked down at the marble floors. As she walked further in, her heels clicked and clacked, the sound reverberating throughout the silent room. I walked to the attached door that connected Jazmin's room to mines and opened it, looking around until I found what I needed.
"Here," I said, passing her the fur slides. "Take them off," I pointed at her heels. She obliged, a hand on my shoulder for support as she bent to remove them.
"You want anything?" I asked. She shook her head causing me to frown. Shaking my head, I said, "come on."
I led her to my bedroom—the bed made with silk sheets and an intricate golden bedpost. I sat on one of the chairs diagonal to the bed and near the TV stand. I watched her stand awkwardly in the middle of the room, a small smile on my lips.
"Baby stop fidgeting." It was weird as hell to see big mouthed, loud, and bold Eva nervous. She gave me a small smile and closed her eyes. "You nervous?" I questioned, leaning back in my chair. "Nope," she responded and finally sat on the bed.
I laughed at her, knowing she was lying. "What you nervous for?"
She shrugged so, I reached and grabbed her hand, pulling her to my lap. The folds of her skirt exposed slivers of her upper thighs as her legs fell around my hips. Hugging her body to me, my hand splaying on each side of her waist, I chuckled at her wide eyes. "You was talking all that ra-ra over the phone, with your mouth all reckless and shit but, look at you now."
She pushed off my chest, a mean ass mug on her face. "Shut up. You just real and really here now. I'm not used to that."
"What you mean?"
"Even though I saw you when we talked and got to see all your reactions and learned what type of person you were, I still wasn't in your presence. It's different. A different type of energy. Over the phone, I can say dumb shit with the security that I can always hang up," she explained, a slight frown on her brows, her lips set in a pout.
"I ain't all that different in person baby. Still sickening as fuck and still Ba Ba the damn Bear." I pushed out the last part through gritted teeth, my face showing my hate for the name. Still, I wanted her as comfortable as possible and she seems to just love that name so, fuck it.
Her answering laugh and hug was my confirmation that I'd said the right thing, her body instantly loosening up in my hold. "Ahhhh, look at you accepting your name. I love to see it!" She said while poking my cheek.
"Shut the fuck up. I ain't accepting shit," I mumbled. "Hm, hm you know you love it."
"How long you staying for?" I asked. "I'm leaving on the third—Sunday morning," she explained.
