SAGE

I fell in love in fourteen days, and then I destroyed everything. "Cheers to self-sabotage, " I slurred. Cheers indeed.

[ Day 1 — April 4, 2020  — Mykonos, Greece ]

"Thank you for helping me plan this," Eva said. I smiled at her, linking our elbows to lead us inside the hotel. "It was no problem, tink. Besides, I get something out of this too." Planning a trip with so many people was difficult, but we did what needed to be done.

Hours later, Leon knocked on my hotel door. "You ready? We finna get some food downstairs, Sage." I nodded, picking up my purse, and walked out the door. "You like the place? I can't read your eyes anymore."

Leon poked my side, a satisfied smile on his face. "That's good. You get on my nerves with that mind reader shit. Stay out my mind!" I laughed at his words. As my younger cousin, I worried about him a lot. "You know you my fav. I can't stand the others – minus your sisters. I gotta make sure my fav is happy."

He stayed quiet for a while. "I'm ok. Not happy but I'm ok. And yea, I like the place. Y'all picked out a good hotel." I accepted the answer with a pout. I wanted him to be happy. He huffed, "Stop that. I'm good, Sage. Now tell me about that workshop you went to last week."

Smiling, I pulled my phone out to show him some pictures I took. "It was so fun! Do you know what it's like to be in a room full of talented designers? I was on cloud nine."

He listened intently as we walked. I never expected an answer, but I smiled whenever he spoke up. He missed no opportunity to tease me, though so, by the time we got to the lounge area, I wanted to punch him. "I can't stand you. You make me sick."

I mugged him as he laughed. "You was just saying I'm yo fav. If anything, your wishy-washy personality makes me sick," he said, holding my shades above his head.

"Listen, you're tall. I understand. But gimme my shit back!"

"Nah, come get it."

I rolled my eyes, walking away. We joined the others soon, and Leon finally slipped me my shades. I pinched his arm and grinned when he hissed. Praise long nails.

As I sipped a glass of margarita, I felt a stare on my back. Glancing around, I found the culprit. Cocking my head, I waved at the man, smiling when I noticed his immediate blush. How cute.

Excusing myself, I stood up and walked towards him. He was sitting further outside, under a large umbrella that covered his entire table. I slipped under the shade, pulling out the seat in front of him. "Hi," I said.

He looked surprised to see me in front of him. I smiled and waited for him to process. "Uh-" he cleared his throat. "Hi."

"You were staring," I teased. His cheeks remained a pretty pink as he smiled nervously. "Sorry. I didn't realize it was that obvious."
