Nevada (last chapter cover)

I wake up to my confinement space shaking violently. My muscles ached and the comfortable heat from above suddenly disappears. My mind unfogs slightly and the loud explosions from outside make me curl inwards to shield myself. The memories from the day before floods my mind and adrenaline  kicks in my veins. I push on the confinement and a strangled cry (that was muffled by something watery) left my being. The adrenaline gives out on me and the explosions and muffled panick outside resides to nothing. My body goes limp under me before I slowly dip into unconsciousness.

When I come to again it's to the light prodding outside my confined space. Muffled chirps, squaks, whines, and playful growls/hisses echo outside. The prodding becomes more desperate and suddenly a crack darts around me. My eyes travel the soft blue light and before I know it the whole space collapse around me. A startled whine leaves my mouth and I fall to the ground with a 'thud'. I lay limp on the ground and look up at the ceiling which was decorated with some ty po e of plant that glowed a beautiful blue. Green sparkles all around the plant and I blink a few times to get a grip on reality.

"She's alive!" Someone chirps and I look at the source. A cat sized furry looking dragon looks at me. It's expression was softly and reassuring. "It's okay little one don't be afraid." My eyes widen at it and I clumsily scramble to my feet. Compared to the male beside me I was considerably small. Panick rises in my being and I look around widely. I look to my side at a shattered glass and see my reflection only to find that I'm not me no more. Instead I'm met with a blue furred dragon that had emerald green eyes. The fur gradieted from a soft toned blue to a deep blue down the under belly. Paws sat on the ground instead of two hands and the paws had gradieated from that deep blue (on the side facing the torso) to the same soft sky blue on my muzzle. My wings and ears copied the pattern of gradients.

A strangled cry leaves my muzzle and I stagger backwards. "What happened to me?!" I wail and the male behind nuzzles into my side. "It's okay your not the only one." I look at him widely and a disbelieving look is plastered on my face. "Trust me-" he starts placing a crimson wing over me, "we will explain everything." The male takes his wing off my smaller form as a silver dragon walks in. "What do we call this species." He looks at me from my sudden blurt and chuckles. "Since there were others like us a few weeks back that had escaped this place-they had called themselves the dragonets from what I have heard so we decided to call ourselves the dragotens." A purr starts in my chest and I nuzzle into his side. "I like that."

The silver dragoten looks at me and smiles at me. "How are you?" He looks to the crimson dragoten before nodding his silver head. The crimson dragoten looks at me before licking my furry cheek. "I have other duties to do. Alot of eggs are hatching today and this lovely male will help you as that is his duty." He pauses and stretches into a stand. Much like a cat. "If you need me call for Neko that's my name." I watch Neko walk out before looking at the silver dragoten. He walks around me before wrapping a wing around my smaller form.

"I'm here to explain anything and everything. Don't be afraid to ask." His ocean blue eyes bore into my green ones and I nuzzle into belly for comfort. "What is your name?" "Justin." "How did all this start?" He wraps his tail around me and purrs gently. My wings clung to my back and I relax into the soft sand. "Well I only so much so I will try my best. Not to long ago, before the alien attack, the government forced scientists to snatch people of the streets all around the world and make super weapons. That is what the dragonets turned out to semi be. The dragonets are a scaly species that coexists with ours. They are scaled and have membrane bound wings." "Where are they?" I question and he nuzzles my cheek affectionately. "They escaped the building as it crumbled. We are in another part of the building. Most of it is still intact and holds our whole population which only consists of twenty-something of us. We are still growing in population." I look back at my egg and before looking at Justin who was waiting patiently to continue.

"As I said the dragonets have escaped and are long gone from this place. Me including a seven others were hatched before the invasion and where treated by the humans in which are no longer inhabiting this planet." My heart suddenly skips a beat and  dad instantly comes to mind. A shaky breath leaves my muzzle and I nuzzle into his welcome embrace. I will ask him that question later. He continues, " As for the invasion-an alien race named the Votaks inhabits the planet now and have been doing so since a few weeks ago. You are very lucky to have been placed in the egg and have been un harmed befor and during the invasion." He sighs gently before looking out the makeshift curtains made out of leaves. "How did the dragotens and dragonets get created?" He looks back at me, "It's said that they found special DNA at Area 51 and have merged it to the our old DNA thus creating the dragonets. As for the Drogotens we come from the same DNA except we have more bird and mammal DNA put into it. We were experiments and weren't really thought to survive very easily. Though we are now paired with the dragonets and any other species that has come with that DNA. To be honest I think, in another part of the building, that there is another species of our kind brewing and still going on." I smile to that thought. "I guess this is my last question but have you heard of anyone with the name Nathaniel? He is my dad and was taken away with me."

Justin's  eyes brighten before he looks towards the doorway, "Nathan come here please!" I look towards the doorway before a silver male walks in and his eyes dart to mine. "Yes?" My eyes widen at dad's voice and I clumsily stand to my paws. "Dad? It's me Nevada." The silver male looks at me before stepping up happily. "How do I know it's Nevada and not someone pretending?" I snort disbelievingly, "Just because I'm a dragoten doesn't mean that the rematch is off. It's just been moved to a further date." He sits on his hunches before nuzzling into my fur. "It's you alright. Because I don't know any other sore loser."

I backa way from him and frown, "You did not just do that." He snorts a chuckle, "I think I just did."
