Chapter Two - The Nickname

"Get up so you don't be late!" Someone sang before jumping on me.

"Evie," I groaned as I caught her sleepily in my hands.

"Mummy said that I had to wake you up so you wouldn't be late for school," Evie informed me in a matter of fact tone.

"Then let me get ready, silly."

"Okay!" Evie chirped, giving me a slobbery kiss on the cheek before skipping out of my room, humming a rhyme.

Wiping at my cheek, I yawned and got up from my bed. Brushing my teeth and having a quick shower, I got changed and ruffled my hair with a towel. Trying to get it as dry as possible, while being as fast as possible. Deciding that my hair had enough attention, I ran a hand through it casually and sprinted downstairs.

Mom was cooking breakfast. When I mentally counted the plates she had put out, I sighed quietly, knowing that dad hadn't come back yet.

Eden was already sitting at the table, a grin on her face, with her hands holding a knife and fork. How the heck did she get down so fast, all smiling and ready to eat? Eh, little kids have the biggest amount of energy in them.

"Morning mom."

"Morning sweetie," She replied, smiling at me.

"Mom, it's Samuel. Not "sweetie," I grimaced.

"You'll always be my sweetie," Mom poured out, which I thought was very soppy.

A bang came from the table.

"Aren't I sweetie?" Evie cried.

"Evie, you're my best sweetie," Mom stated, nodding in confirmation.

Gulping down some tea, I thought about what mom said.

"Hey!" I spoke out in outrage.

"Hey, give it back."

Jamie grinned at Skylar evilly before sticking the bar of chocolate in his mouth. Skylar frowned at him, then her eyes darted towards the bar on my plate.

And there goes my chocolate...I thought rather sadly as Skylar and Jamie started fighting over who gets to eat it. What in the world!? It's my chocolate, for Christ's sake!

Skylar then kissed Jamie for a few seconds. "Now can I have it?" she teased him seductively.

Jamie seemed in some kind of daze and I internally praised Skylar. She had Jamie under her spell.

"Nope, the chocolate is sweeter than you," Jamie teased back, snatching the chocolate of her surprised face, eating in like he hadn't seen food in forever.

"You're mean, Jamie," Skylar pouted, turning towards me. "do you want to go out, dear Samuel?"

We all knew she was joking. And even though Skylar was fucking hot! She was off-limits. She was Jamie's and she wouldn't do that to him and so wouldn't I.

I put on a thinking face. "Sure my dear Skylar," I wrapped my arm around her shoulder, and she looked at Jamie with a "look".

"Get your own girlfriend, Knite," Jamie grumbled, snatching Skylar away from me.

Skylar laughed at that and I laughed along with her. But I couldn't help but feel a bit hurt from that, despite the fact that I was laughing at myself. Was me having a girlfriend that unbelievable? Oh well, I didn't blame her, heck I was laughing as well.
