PROLOGUE
My head hits the ground at enormous speed, making the world swim. Must get up, must get up. I can't go like this. Just as I get up on my feet he knocks me down again, this time making sure I stay there. Panic rises like a boiling kettle about to go off. He was going towards her,but before he was about to place a hand on her his dark eyes with an evil gleam looked at me. He opened his mouth and Said words that made my blood run cold.
"I know how it began, I know how it ends".
It took me a few seconds to realise I wasn't nobreathing and took a breath in. Smoke filled my lungs, I start coughing. His rich laugh Echoes through my ears to my mind. He leans down towards her and places one pale, pristine hand on her small cheek. I take a gulp because I know what I need to do. I have to do it, it's the only way. I close my eyes and search for the door that I'd locked in the back of my mind, I turn the key and it's furious, shadowed forces come rushing with eagerness and excitement. I fight for control over them and force them with as much power I can muster to break the wall guarding the dark cave of his mind. The wall shatters away with a sound like dropping glass, I'm in.
