4: Slept With A Demon

          As Anato felt the heat of the sun pressing on her eyes, she woke up wanting to go back to sleep. She turned the other way to avoid the shrieking shine. Before she could come back to her cozy slumber, she immediately froze as soon as she sees a man sleeping right next to her. She didn't felt shock by it, but confused as to who the man is. It was then she remembered that the bed she's sleeping on belongs to a demon named Mammon. Slowly, she tried to get off the bed without waking him up. All the sudden, the man hold on to her hand and pulled her towards his body. She kept calm as the man wrapped his hand around her. "I'm surprised that you're not reacting to me doing this to you." He suddenly spoke. "S-sorry. " She immediately apologize while avoiding eye contact with him. "I'll accept yours, since you gave me a beautiful sleep last night. But, I won't forgive that idiot who let's a broken soul use my room as a guest room." He said and gently smile whilst shutting his eyes. "Sorry." She apologized again. "Don't worry, just stay still and let me sleep again. The evening is almost here." He said. The evening? She thought. "Yes, the evening is coming and soon the night falls. Then I'll have to go back to work. " He said. "Oh." She answered. It went silent, she tried to get out of his grasp. He mumbled and tighten his grasp. "I-i should go before that someone sees us." She said. "Nobody's gonna see us, don't worry." He said. "But someone is coming." She said. "Nobody's going to come insi--" Suddenly, someone barged into the room. "Anato!" Satan exclaimed. Anato quickly get out of his grasp and went off the bed. "Y-yes?" She asked. Satan looked at Mammon who calmly stretched his hands and crossing it behind his head. Satan laughed awkwardly. "Hello, brother. I see that you had a good sleep." He said as he signalled Anato to get out. She quickly went out of the room. "Did you really think using my room for a broken soul is a good idea." Mammon spoke to him. "No, but you know what's a good idea? A breakfast coming right up to your door." Satan said and smiled. Mammon quiets down from moment as he thinks. "I guess that's a good idea. Bring me my food then. " He said. "Coming right up!" He said and quickly went out. After closing the door, he sighed heavily. "Are you alright?" Anato asked. "No, I might die of a heart attack." He said while panting as if he went for a run. "Anyway, are you alright? He didn't do anything to you?" He asked. "No." She answered. "Thank goodness, sorry to put you in this. I didn't knew he was going to come back all the sudden." He said. "It's fine." She said. "Put what?" Lucifer asked as he approached them. "Argh!" Satan shouted. "Hello, Anato. How was the tour? Did they treat you well?" Lucifer asked her. Satan looked at her with a begging eyes. "Yeah, it's great." She said and smiled. "Really? I didn't expect them to actually treat you well." Lucifer said as he glanced at Satan, to which Satan replied with a smile. "Anyway, have you taken your breakfast yet?" Lucifer asked her. "Not yet." She said. "And where's Mammon? Call him to breakfast." He said to Satan. "He's taking his breakfast on the bed. " Satan said. "What? So now that he came back, he's being all Lord?" Lucifer said and went in front of Mammon's room. "Mammon." Lucifer called out. "Yes brother?" Mammon said. "Eat in the dining room!" Lucifer shouted. Anato startled. Then Lucifer went back to them. "Now, shall we have our breakfast?" He said to Anato.

          They gathered in the dining room, where Belphine along with Asmodeus, Leviathan and a guy were sitting. "Greetings brother! Haven't seen you in a long time!" Asmodeus said. "Hi. " Leviathan greeted. "Brother!" Belphine said and stood up. "Belphegor, I see that you successfully transform to your desire. You look lovely." Lucifer said. "Thank you, but it's Belphine now. " She said and sat down. "Anyway, I have an announcement to give. So lend me your ears, this is Anato Fuda. A broken soul, just like Shahmeel. Shahmeel, this is Anato." Lucifer said to the guy. Shahmeel smiled at her to which she smiled back. "She'll be staying with us for a temporary time until she regains her full memory and proceed the cleansing process." Lucifer said. "Since she's under this house, she deserves to be protect by each and every one of my brothers and sister. She must be respect as if she's our mother." Lucifer said. "What if we never had a mother?" Asmodeus asked while rising his hand. "Well, you just need to respect her then. Like you do to me. " Lucifer said. "Tell that to Satan." Belphine said. "I do respect her okay! The only demon who doesn't, is that moron!" Satan pointed Asmodeus, who chuckled awkwardly. "When did I ever disrespected her?" He asked sounding sarcastic.  "You did molested her, in the dark." Leviathan said. "I wasn't molesting her okay, consider it a grand welcoming by me. " Asmodeus said and smiled. "Brothers." Lucifer said with an annoyed tone. "If one of you ever try to touch Anato again, I'll put a curse on all of you. Even the ones, who didn't comply." He exclaimed. "Understood?!" He commanded. "Yes, brother!" They responded. "I entrust her to Belphine to assist her whenever I'm not around. Are you alright with that?" Lucifer asked Belphine. "Yes, anything for you." She said and smiled. "Good, my speech ends here. Let's have our breakfast!" He said and sat down. "Sit beside me, Anato." Belphine said and patted the chair beside her. Anato smiled and sat down. "Sorry for the delay, had some complications in the kitchen. Here's our breakfast!" He said and clapped his hands. All the sudden, trays with food began floating inside the room and gently landing on the table. "Breakfast is served!" Beelzebub said and sat down as well. "Oh, Mammon! Good to see you again!" Belphine said. They look at Mammon who just entered half naked. He smiled. Anato tried to avoid eye contact with him and just continued to eat her food. Mammon sat in front of Anato while staring at her. "Lucifer, may I know who this broken soul is?" Mammon asked. "Anato Fuda, my broken soul." Lucifer said. Anato smiled without looking at him. "I see." Mammon said.

          After breakfast, Anato alongside Lucifer and Belphine gathered at the library. "So since you're informed Belphine, Anato needs to remember how she died. Which means going all the way back." Lucifer said. "I understand. But the thing is, going all the way back to when she died won't do anything. She would only know how she died but still doesn't know why and when." Belphine said. Lucifer sighed. "You have a point." He said. "The reason I wanna know how I died is because I thought it might trigger my full memory." Anato said. "There is a possibility that might occur, but still if it doesn't work. The trigger can be anywhere." Belphine said. "What are you guys discussing?" Mammon said as he approached them. Anato was surprised to see him. "We're finding a shortcut to obtain Anato's full memory without starting from the bottom." Lucifer said. "A shortcut?" He asked. "Yes, a trigger point from her memory."Lucifer said. "Trigger point.. I'm not sure it'll work, Shahmeel is almost close to his final memory and still hasn't catch the trigger point." Mammon said. "I see no harm in trying, since we know that starting from the bottom takes a long time." Lucifer said. "I get what you mean, so which of it do you wanna start first?" Mammon asked Anato. "W-what?" she said in stutter. " We're starting from her death point." Belphine said. "I see. That might be a good starting line." Mammon agreed. "It is, but we're doubting that it might actually work." Belphine said. "Well you just need to list out the important things in a human beings life that can potentially be a trigger point." Mammon said as he took the paper and pen. "Let's see, firstly would be her death. Second could be.. Her parents. Third, would be her friends. Fourth, can be her childhood maybe like her first day of school. Fifth, could be.. Urm.." He began thinking. "We can think of that later, let's just start with this." Belphine said. "It might actually work. Thank you for assisting brother." Lucifer said, and patted his back. "And that goes with you as well."He said to Belphine. "I'm glad to help. " She smiled. "Well then, what's left is to test out. I have to go now, so I'll leave this part to you Belphine." Lucifer said. "Sure." She said. "Well then, Anato. I'll be leaving now. If you need anything, you can always come to Belphine." Lucifer said to Anato. She nodded. Then he left the table. "I need to prepare space for us to conduct the experiment in my room. So I'll be back, okay? Do you wanna follow me, Anato?" Belphine asked her. "Oh, it's fine. I'll stay until you're done. I don't wanna interrupt your work." Anato said. "Okay then, I'll find you when I'm done." She said and walked away. Then it was just Anato and Mammon left. Anato felt awkward being alone with him. "I-i should go." Anato said and walked away. All the sudden, Mammon grabbed her hand. She looked at him nervously. "You should tie your hair. You look messy." He said and pulled her. "I'm fine with my hair being messy." She said. "Shh." He said and turned her around. Then he began braiding her hair. "Done. " He said. She turn around to look at him. "Wow, magnificent. Just like an art." Mammon said and gently rubbed her right cheek. She startled by his action. "Thanks. I should get going. " She said and quickly went out of the library.
