crazy things happen to people
as if we live on stage
playing roles we never knew
we have with scripts to follow
and scenes to fulfill,
we act accordingly,
move accordingly,
speak so little about what we feel
but mouths are open to
spit out words of lies
and planned dialogues,
crazy things happen to people
in the middle of the play,
a prop unprepared,
a forgotten line,
an absent character,
guess that's where you fall,
you were there but never were,
you speak great fallacies
and sung sweet lullabies
that brought me to sleep,
i, on the other hand,
answered with a voice
of love,
of longing,
of passion,
you were the brightest
star therein,
and i must say,
i grew fond of everything,
but then,
the pages unravelled,
chapters changed,
a plot twist i never expected,
i fell and for the first time
i felt the cold floor beneath me,
my back throbbed with the pain
and i was helpless to
reach my hand for yours,
you never laid your eyes on me
just like the way you glanced
at me before it happened,
freezing,
your eyes painted in blue,
in coldness,
in hue,
i never seen that before,
how you looked away
and left me there
reaching out to where you are,
glacial stares as i felt
a prick on to my chest—
i forgot what we were in
the first place,
just two souls on a stage,
guess, i was hoping for too much
when all along this was created
for a tragedy to end,
we played for roles as if
we're romeo and juliet,
exchanging dialogues
of affection with your
lovelorn lips,
all we did were a piled up lie
and will never turn into reality—
now, the universe spoke for itself,
even in a diverse dimension
we were never meant,
we were on a pedestal
of an outlined story,
just another parallel
lines never created to
meet on a scene—
another heartbreak
on the screen
