(Y/N POV)

"Let me see that!" Alexander snatched the letter away from Emily, taking his glasses from the fireplace to read it properly. "...Shit..."
"Mind your language, Alexander." Eliza warned.
"What does it say?!"

"Dear Miss Hamilton,

I am under no disinclination than to send you an invitation. An invitation such that I am inclined to meet you here at my residence in the City of Westminster. I caught your name from my wife, who caught your name from an old gentlemen that you and your nation fought against. I have apprehended your war efforts associated with your work alongside President George Washington. Discussing your inexorable existence with men of mine, I made the arduous settlement that I was captivated by your character and would hence enjoy learning more.

Thus far, I hear that you fled my country after your deceased Father. You accommodate with your Uncle, the notable Gen. Alexander Hamilton, and impersonated that of a man to fight against my very own men. You aided the Colonists throughout this War, ergo conducting them to victory. I find no means in ridiculing or humiliating you, Miss Hamilton, I would merely like to interrogate you. Ne'er had such a woman succeeded in such a manoeuvre, not since The Maid of Orléans herself.

Unite and become my ally for one day, Miss. On my orders, you shall join me unattended by presenting this very paper to the next ship leaving for England's capital.

I anticipate your arrival.

Sincerely,

King George, King of
the British Empire."

"Oh, so now even the King knows who I am!" I threw my hands into the air. "And he expects me to go to London just so that we can have a chat?!"
"He knows of me, too..." Alexander commented.
"Yes, but with this information, this man could easily ruin my life! I carry this burden on my shoulders for an eternity and by each day, it becomes worse and worse!"

"Look on the bright side!" Emily put her hand on my shoulder. "We get a free trip abroad!"
"We?!" I questioned, stepping away. "Nonono, you are not coming! ...What am I even saying? I'm not going!!"
"And you have every right not to go!" Alexander supported me.

"Please, dear, think about this. I don't want us winding into any trouble, especially with the monarchy." Eliza considered.
"Their monarchy means nothing to me," I stated, "if he wants to talk, he can come here himself."
"I don't think that the King of England would want to come here." Emily added in.

"...Let me see it, please." I took the letter from Alexander, searching for a signature:

"Sophie, it could be fun!" Emily persuaded, though her persuasions were not the greatest

"Sophie, it could be fun!" Emily persuaded, though her persuasions were not the greatest.
"Even if I did go, I have to go unaccompanied!"
"That is certainly not happening." Alexander declared. "The man's a lunatic. If you did go, you would take someone with you-"

"What's happening, Pa?" Philip came down the stairs in his nightgown.
"Sophie is going to meet the King." Emily spoke for me.
"I am n-!"
"The King?!" he gasped. "You mean the Crazy Old King Pa tells us stories about?!"
Alexander sighed. "Yes, son, The Crazy Old King, now p-"

"What's happening?" Junior bounced down the stairs and locked his arm around his brother's neck; he tried wrestling him down to the floor.
"We will have none of that, Junior!" Eliza lectured him.
"Sorry, Ma."
Philip pulled himself back up. "Sophie is going to meet the King."
"The Crazy Old King?!" Junior's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Who's going to meet the Crazy Old King?!!" Frances called from upstairs.
"Sophie!!" Junior shouted back.
"Nobody is going to meet the King, alright?" I announced.
"The Crazy Old King...?" Eliza questioned, looking strictly to Alexander for an answer.
"...I tell them stories-"
"Stories that mock their monarchy?"
"It's a story-!"

"ALRIGHT! Everybody stop!" Emily forced her hands into the air. "This is about Sophie." She tackled both of my shoulders with her hands. "Please, Sophie?"
"Go to London?"
"Yes!"
"No."
"It will be fun! We can visit the London Eye!"
"Emily, that hasn't been built yet."

"We could stay with Angelica!" she proposed, glancing back and forth between Alexander and Eliza.
"I... I d-"
"My sister would gladly take you both!" Eliza exclaimed, interrupting Alexander. "Her husband is a fine gentleman. Oh, and her children! Her children are the sweetest!"

I had met Angelica's children only twice in Albany whilst visiting Eliza's father. I had a vivid memory of them and their names, but I was certain that the eldest was also called Philip. Alexander, just to tease, enjoyed bragging that his Philip was the superior Philip of them all. I could only agree until I got to know the boy more; till then, Alexander was completely right.

Alexander sighed. "It is your decision, Sophie. Though I would advise against it-"
"Sophie, don't!!" Junior begged. "Pa tells me that he..." -He gagged- "He bites your toes off."
The two girls squealed from upstairs.
"Alexander!!" Eliza screeched.
"What?!"

I was not even remotely interested in meeting the King. Many would see this as an opportunity to never pass, but all he wanted me for was for my past, not my present. I didn't even know if I could face the man; I had slaughtered some of his men to free our nation. I had fought against his conventions upon gendered roles and I was in no doubt that he would mock me for it. What could I do? He was the king.

Alas, to be invited on a free holiday was, indeed, 'an opportunity to never pass'. I'd visited London only twice in the future when my mother took us to visit a distant Uncle of some sorts. To view it from the perspective of 200 years prior would be spectacular. But was I made for London? It was a city fit for royalty and I was much less fashionable than anyone wandering those streets.

Despite this, it would be my chance to relieve myself from the pressures of New York. I would be much less known of there, compared to here where every soul in the city chants my name. I could stay with Angelica and her family for a few months or so until I can organise my ship back to New York. Or, if I was impressionable upon him, it could persuade the King to organise it all.

I made my decision.

"...I'll go."
