Holding On (Original)

I step into my new house and immediately I think, "This is perfect!" I step lightly across my living room where my brothers had already put new furniture and sit down on the brand new couch. One of my older brothers steps in and says, "Welcome to your new home!" I grin and then feeling a little guilty say, "you guys didn't have to get me this, I could have gotten my own place." You see, I had just graduated from high school after turning 18. My brothers had then decided to get me a house and move me in immediately, which I had tried to turn down but they insisted, saying that this house was only three blocks from the university that I will be going to and now I don't have to worry if I can pay rent or not. So I had finally consented and just went along with it. "Nonsense, what kind of brothers would we be if we couldn't get our baby brother a new house. Besides, we couldn't leave you with those people." He says the last word with venom dripping from his voice.
