Josh's POV
I sat silently in the booth, sneaking occasional glances at Kaden. I still couldn't believe this was real. After that horrible first date, or meeting I should say, I never thought I'd see him again. The same man I was crying over, the same man who had my heart and soul, was sitting across from me. Jaw clenched, slightly irritated, and SEXY AS HELL.
The way he defended me in the club was amazing. The way he held me with such dominance and practically told the world that I was his..well let's just say I'll definitely be having some wet dreams tonight. By the time I shook off the pure shock and lust, Im reminded of the one question that's burning in the back of my mind.
What was he doing outside?
His parents were crazy strict and there's no way he was just out clubbing for fun. If Kaden was one thing, it definitely wasn't social.
"I called but you didn't pick up so I just tracked your location" Kaden suddenly speaks up , clearly being able to tell what I was thinking. We had our gps on for each other incase of emergencies only, but that was when he first got his phone. I guess it's been so long that I'd completely forgotten.
"I haven't heard from you in a while."
"I needed to think."
"....For two weeks?"
"You're lucky that I still want you in my life at all, Joshua" he seethed. I immediately shrunk back into my seat and looked down. My lip was trembling and tears threatened to spill over. I know I deceived him but did he have to say my name with so much malice? I sniffled and grabbed a napkin out the holder before blowing my nose.
He sighed and rubbed his temples.
"Look...I can't lie, I'm hurt. Like this seriously sucks but at the same time there's nothing I can do. I'm completely and totally in love with you. The way you laugh, the way you huff whenever you don't get your way, that cute little birthmark on your butt. I'm smitten with you. I can't say this will be easy, but I'm still your man and we're in a relationship at the end of the day."
I stared at him in complete shock as he glanced at me then looked away. His cheeks were turning a tinge of pink and it was like god himself planned out this scene between us. So my lies hadn't ruined everything. That was a start.
I reached across the table and gently grasped his hand. He turned to look at me and smiled, doing the same.
"Your nails look nice, I see you got my favorite color" he mumbled and I nodded back shyly.
What the hell had I done to deserve a perfect person like him?
"Hi welcome to Ihop, can I start you off with something to drink?" Our waitress asked. Finally. We'd been waiting here for a while now, and the annoying part is all the wait staff were just standing around talking or being really slow. After the incident at the club, Kaden took me to eat and since he knows I love Ihop, he didn't think twice about pulling over when we saw the giant illuminated sign.
"I'd like a glass of lemonade please" I said politely. She completely ignored me and put a hand on Kaden's bicep.
"Hun, what would you like?"
"A glass of orange juice please. And we're actually ready to order, we don't need any extra time."
"Okay great! What'll ya have?"
"I'll have the triple bacon burger with fries and coleslaw, and my boyfriend will have the strawberry and banana nut pancake platter with home fries and scrambled eggs. Oh and don't forget his lemonade." He said smiling while taking my hand again. The woman wrote down the order but frowned immensely, clearly not liking the fact that her flirting was shut down. I blushed as she walked away.
