Elizabeth had done it. That amazing genius and artist had done it! She successfully completed a sketch of the man who took Kara. I thanked her as she left, holding the completed drawing in my hands. It was beautifully terrifying.

As she drew she walked me through the process as I paced behind her. She was able to sketch the side of his face and guess the features on the other half, creating a mirror image per say and laid them next to each other, filling in the details she didn't have. From his face she was also able to guess what his eyes looked like and the top half of his face even though it was covered by his hair in the picture she based it off of. She explained that the structure of the face carried similarities throughout and created a pattern that you could guess. She was an absolute genius who I would be thankful for the rest of my life.

After she shut the door behind her, I immediately called Detective O'era. When she didn't pick up I tried again and again until I finally left a voice message explaining that I had a picture of the kidnapper and tapes from the cafeteria that show who he was. Based off of Kara's facial expressions in the video as well as the story that Kara had told me about their interaction, I had no doubt it was him. The police may need a little more convincing, but I could do that. I had to do that.

I leaned back in my chair, arms supporting my head and looked outside. The sky was starting to get dark. We had spent hours in the room, trying to piece him together like our own Frankenstein monster.

I scooped up the tapes and the drawing, not wanting to wait one more second. I basically ran out the door on my way to the police station. My stomach began to grown in detest, I don't think I'd eaten anything for a few days, but that could wait one more minute, one more hour. I had to find Kara.

I burst through the station doors, the man at the desk seemingly recognized me as he looked up in surprise. "Mr. Taylor? We weren't expecting you back so soon."

Soon? I scoffed. It had been almost a week already with no news. "Yeah, I need to talk to detective O'era or someone else who is on the case of Kara Williams." He raised his eyebrow, interested. I smiled, "I have evidence, photo evidence of who this man is and I think they might find it helpful."

Shocked, the detective started typing a storm on his computer. He shut his little window separating him from me and held up a finger to tell me to wait. I nodded at him as he picked up a phone. I couldn't help by smile. Tightening my grip on the tapes and drawing as if to protect them from anyone else around, I approached his desk as he finished the call.

He slid open his window and cleared his throat. "Detective O'era is staking out the neighborhood and will be back shortly. She's only a few blocks away."

"What street is she on?" I demanded.

"Alder and Cedar, heading towards Willow." I thanked him and ran out the door. I was going to meet her halfway.

I ran three blocks down Alder and stopped, seeing a dark car in the distance. Thinking it was her, I stood by a tree, waving the paper and her to signal to stop, but the car wasn't hers. It was a fairly new looking Jeep Ranger.

The car was a dark black, sleek and shining in the street lights, no license plate that I could see. Time slowed as the car passed. The man in the drivers seat slowly looking in my direction. He looked at the paper I was holding and frowned slightly at the image, his dark, black hair covering his eyes and the top of his face. He looked at me and smiled. He knew who I was, the recognition in his face was enough to tell me that. I recognized him too. The drawing of him completely accurate. Elizabeth had done a great job.

The car sped past and I tried to chase after it, but I knew there was no way I could catch up. I watched it turn a corner and smiled. Not only did I have his face, I had his car. Unfortunately, he now knew who I was too and that I was looking for him. Hopefully he wouldn't get spooked and run.
