Sleeping on a desk probably wouldn't sound like the most comfortable thing in the world, but once Brian set him up with a soft, fresh blanket, Kas had never felt better. After first sinking into it, he almost feared that it was secretly a sick trap to force him not to want to get up ever again and keep him away from his home forever, but when Brian quietly bid him good night and with a little yawn reminded him they had a big day tomorrow, he knew he didn't need to worry.
The two had agreed that it was already late enough, and it was probably best to save their planning for his return journey in the morning, so Brian had gotten ready for bed while Kas had settled under the cover of his blanket nest. Brian then crawled into his own bed, said good night and rolled over, and Kas fell asleep in a blink.

The next morning was a new feeling for the both of them. Kas, for one, instinctively panicked upon discovering he wasn't in his own home, before recognizing the contents of the human desk and remembering that he was safe. Brian had forgotten about the borrower in his sleep and was curious as to why a folded up extra blanket was sitting on his desk only to have the memory click and his brain go "oh yeah" before he climbed out of bed, fed Kas and himself some granola clusters, and began to devise their plan.
Brian was sipping coffee while on his phone looking for screenings of movies that had good showing times that would allow Kas enough space to get back to his home, and Kas sat on the kitchen counter nearby, still nibbling on granola as they discussed, or really, Brian suggested something and Kas shrugged it off.
"So if I got a ticket for this one at 1:00..."
"Nope. Too late in the afternoon."
"...1:00 is too late? That's only one hour after noon!"
"And even by then there's already too many people," Kas mumbled over a bit of granola as he chewed it.
"Ok..." Brian let out a gentle sigh. He was only getting slightly impatient, but decided not to let his indecisiveness worry him; it was still early.
"What about this 11:30 one?" Brian suggested, tilting his phone screen in Kas's direction.
"...Yes that's perfect!"
"Wait, really?"
"Yeah! I haven't seen it but I think that one always plays at 11 right by my house, it can't be far!" Kas couldn't believe how perfectly this worked out.
"Awesome! I don't think I've seen this one." Brian looked back at his phone to look at the movie information again.
"Great, then it's settled," Kas said with a satisfied face after finishing off some granola. It fell shortly after it arrived as he suddenly realized something.
"Wait, you don't have to actually buy a ticket just to take me home, do you?! I don't wanna cost you-"
"Oh, don't worry about that." Brian waved it off gently. "Besides, this one's plot sounds interesting. I'll probably enjoy myself like I normally would if I was going to a theater."
Those words did little to settle Kas's anxiety. As much as he'd said he didn't mind, Brian was still using money, real money to pay to take him home, not to mention wasting so much of his day to take care of something as mundane as taking him home. Even if he was the reason he was away from the theater in the first place, it still felt like way too much trouble just for a borrower. It's not like he actually cared about him anyway, he was just doing it to be nice, he's probably super annoyed at me right now and is just too polite to say-
"Kas? You ok, bud?"
Kas jumped at his name to see Brian's large face leaning down slightly to look at him easier from his spot at the table to see his eyes clearly.
