Holly had the joy of following Lennox around the base for a while until she was "dumped" in the hands of Professor "I'm a Doctor" David Moore.
He was grumbling as he moved books as papers and Holly found him amusing to watch from the chair she had been given to sit in the corner of the man's office.
"Stop staring, would you," Prof. Moore snapped at her, growing grumpier by the moment the more time he had to babysit Holly.
"Sorry," Holly said, not sounding sorry at all as she closed her eyes. She ignored the man's grumbling as she focused on the frequencies through the air, listening to things that humans wouldn't think to protect from the likes of her.
Cybertronians on the other hand, their frequencies were a bit harder to tune into, she could manage to get into one if she wanted to, but it wasn't as easy as attempting to get into a human frequency. So as Holly surfed the human frequencies and Prof. Moore huffed, and gruffed. A pair of Decepticon symbiotes were attacking the place that held the last piece of the Allspark.
A knock on the Professor's door made both Prof. Moore and Holly look up, the latter switching back to room hearing as the Professor left his desk to answer the door.
A pair of soldiers were standing behind/next to a redheaded woman that Holly knew all too well, "Mother," she sighed silently.
Prof. Moore let the woman in, the pair of soldiers glanced at each other before the Professor slammed the door in their faces, muttering, "I will not have stupidly brave soldiers in my office, thank you very much."
Heather Fitzroy crouched and hugged her daughter, the Cyber-Organic wrapping her small arms around her mother automatically and resting her head against her mother's shoulder- just like she had learned was the correct way of hugging someone in the human customs.
Cyber-Organics and Cybertronians don't do the same physical meaning of hugs as humans do. Holly hadn't been able to understand the reason until she was three. Humans hug because they need some sort of physical contact with someone, even the worst kind of human does, while Cybertronians and Cyber-Organics did it as a way of expressing themselves to family members, and partners. Humans could hug anyone and it could be platonic, whereas Cybertronians and Cyber-Organics hugged for purely familial and for those that they had sworn their sparks to.
"Thank the heavens that you're safe," Heather breathed out when they released the hug, she moved a curl of her daughter's hair behind her ear.
"I'm fine, Mom," Holly smiled, consciously moving towards the warmth of her mother's palm. Her eyes lit up excitedly as she looked into her mother's brown eyes, "I heard Dad today!"
Heather's face dropped from the relieved look it held before to disappointment and sadness, "I'm sorry you haven't met him face to face yet, my darling."
Holly shrugged, "I'm only eight, I've still got plenty of time left in my life," neither of them mentioned that if Holly was discovered by the other sides that her life expectancy would most likely shorten.
