Draco's POV

By the time we arrive at the Great Hall, I have been so in my head I might never tell him. (y/n) and i said good bye and he went to his table, he must not be that bothered by it, that's good at least. I head to my table and sit listening to the other Slytherins go on about whatever it is they're talking about. I don't eat anything, I'm too caught up in the fact I didn't tell him like I meant to.

"So Draco," Pansy said, startling me, "What were you doing this summer?"

"He and (Y/n) had a project they had to work on." Crabb cuts in before i can say anything.

"Look, Draco, these two my be stupid, but I'm not, you have had a project ever summer with the same person, I caught on year three, you can just say you were hanging out with (y/n)." Pansy said.

"Yeah, we know you're friends, we see you at school together." Goyle added.

"I know that but my father can't," I responded.

"Again, not stupid!" Pansy exclaimed, "I'm also smart enough to see that (y/n) isn't like his family, but i still don't understand why you like him."

"He's just different than other people, ok." I said fidgeting with my robes.

"Yeah, we can all see that, but why do you like it?" Crabb asked.

"I don't know, i guess because, you're all loyal because your parents are loyal to mine, just like your kids will be loyal to mine and so on, but (y/n) he's only loyal to people if he cares about them. And that too, he cares about people." I say.

"I care about people!" Pansy interjects.

"You care about how to get people to do what you want, and getting them on your good side, not the actual people." I snap. I stand up to leave and no one says anything. As I'm going, I see (y/n) yelling at someone sitting across from him. I almost walk over but I know him well enough to know that if he doesn't want to be there, he'll leave. I head towards my common room, then decide to go to (y/n)'s instead, in case he does decide to leave. When I get there I tap in the password on the barrels. I've known the password sense the first year but I have had a couple of incidents, luckily the majority of hufflepuffs are nice to you regardless of house and they helped clean me up. I have the password down now to the point that it's muscle memory, like all the 6th year hufflepuffs and their close friends. When I get in I sit in a fraying brown armchair, it's more comfortable than it looks. I'm not there more than 2 minutes when (y/n) walks in.
