Rumors Spiral

That night I had a great time with modesty, not gonna lie after we both woke up we had a make out session. It was amazing but that doesn't matter right now as much as getting back to the palace is. I sit up, realizing that this time when I sat up, I wasn't wearing clothes, looking over I see the same thing with a sleeping modesty. "God dammit we're idiots. " I didn't notice her sitting up and she wraps a hand around my shoulders. "Yes we are. " I practically jumped. "You scared me! " She chuckles. "We better get you back to the palace, it's almost ten right now. " I nod. "Come with me and stay please. " She sighs. "I'll stay as long as I can, I sweet talked my boss into letting me have the day off. " I smile. "Then let's get going, I'll have the palace maintenance make you breakfast! " She smiles. "Why can't we eat here? " I stop trying to get out of the massive bed and look at her. "We could couldn't we. " I sit there. "Well, let's do that then cause I'm sure they'll have stuff for me to do. " She nods. She stands up, I couldn't help but stare at her body. I turn my head when she glanced back, it was to late she saw me staring. "Like what you see? " I make a eek sound when she says that. "Yeah, I love it really. " She laughs. "Have you always had a tendency to stare at what you like? " She walks over as I quickly shuffle to get dressed. "Only at you, just recently I guess. " She chuckles softly and places a kiss on my lips, making me nearly faint. She pulls away and finishes getting dressed, walking into the kitchen.

I stand up to finish putting my dress on, then I lace up my high leather boots. I walk in after her, smelling the sweet and amazing smell of pancakes. I wrap my arms around her back. She jumped a bit at my touch, but that was from surprise. "I see you found me. " I laugh a little. "Not the first time I've been in your home silly. " She giggles. "I see and smell you're making pancakes. " I smile, she does as well. "Remember when  you made me pancakes all those years back? " I nod. "When you were a little younger Modesty you loved pancakes, you always loved it when I made them. " She smiles. I pull away from her and go to her side. "Here, there's a plate over there for you if you could get it for me. " I nod, going to where she pointed and I grab the plate. It was a beautiful painted plate with a sunflower in the middle. I hand it to her and she places three golden brown pancakes on it. "Here you go. "  I grab the plate gently from her hands, she smiles as I grab silverware and the syrup and butter. I walk and sit down, placing everything down. She joins me with her own plate, sitting beside me. "They smell delicious. " She smiles. "Well I hope they taste delicious too. " She chuckles a little, I join. I place butter on the three pancakes and poured syrup, slowly I cut and take a bite. My eyes widen at the taste. They were fluffy and sweet, they were amazing. "These taste amazing! " She smiles at my enjoyment. "That's good, now eat up so we can get you to the castle. " I nod, both her and I quickly eat our food, rushing to finish. Once done I clean the dishes while Modesty laces up her shoes, grabbing her things. I walk over and grab my bag, making sure everything was there, which it was. "I'm ready to go, you? " Modesty looks at me and nods. She opens the door, allowing me to exit first, she follows afterward. "I can't wait to hear the nagging I'm gonna get. " I laugh a bit, I was nervous. She walked up and slid her hand into mine, looking at her with confusion she smiles. "Then let's hurry then. " I nod. Together we dash to the castle, smiling and waving at passerbys. We finally make it and the guards at the gate urges us in. Then I see her, my loyal maid, Taylor. "Hurry hurry your majesty, you've got many things to do. " I laugh as we hurry into the castle. Taylor rushes me and modesty up to my room, asking if we ate and when we say yes she seemed relieved. "All the things you need to do is up in your room my queen, if you have any questions you can ask me or call in your helper or whatever. " I nod. "Yes yes, I get it, I'll get anything I have done. Just you calm down. " She sighs and once we make it she pushes us in and joins us, shutting the door. "Now my queen before you do anything, we must get you cleaned and out of that dress! " She starts to walk up and I grab her hands, she immediately stops, looking at me. "We can do that later, for now how about you go get some rest. " She starts her but session and I stop her. "No buts! I'm capable of doing things myself, you go relax. " Her hands slip from mine and she flops her head down, nodding. "Yes my queen. " She turns and leaves, modesty stood there in shock. "Do you always get that? " I sigh, knowing that some days I do. "Most days I do, but it's not every day that Taylor is so eager to please me. " She nods. "I see. " I grab her hand and pull up a chair next to mine, so she could watch me as I do my work at my desk. "It might be boring for a while but I assure you that once I'm done we'll have loads of fun! " Modesty gives me a warm smile. "As long as I'm with you, I wouldn't have a care for the world what we do. " I smile. "You're too kind. " She giggles. I turn and flip through the letters and papers. I find letters from my fellow royals that are a part of the URKOG who are checking in and giving me feedback. A war was playing out in the far kingdoms, ones that are borders to my ally in the North realm. "My word, I must schedule a meeting with queen Moxie to see what to do. " Modesty looks over. "What's wrong? " I hand her the letter. "Read there. " She does so as I go through more things. I find papers about conflicts with crime outside of the village. I find letters from my family, asking if I'd visit this weekend. But one letter out of everything here, peaked my interest the most. It was from Charlie, it was one about a rumor. A rumor about a lost kingdom, one not on the maps. I read the letter, it read.

Dear my queen Nettie,
I write you just minutes after you went with Modesty. Anyways when I was at the local market I overheard some locals speaking. Speaking about this rumor or legend if you will, of a kingdom very few know of. It's called the lost kingdom, apparently it was on the maps many many years back, something bad had happened for the kingdom to be completely erased. Weird huh? I wanted to write you since I feel this is something you'd look into.

It ended there. "Hey modesty, I have a question. " She looks at me, placing the letters she was reading down. "Yes Nettie, What is it? " I hand her the letter from Charlie. "Ever heard of the lost kingdom? " She shakes her head. "Never heard, how could Charlie pay that much attention to local chatter. " She laughs. "I think this is all bullshit. There's no way this kingdom just went missing and only few know what happened to it? Bullshit, of only few knew about it, how did those randos know about it? " I shrug. "No clue, but I'm sure it's still something to check in to. " She sighs. "I'm sure it's just a legend, one to keep people from being like these lost kingdom dwellers. " I shrug again. "You never know modesty, I mean all our lives we called bull on magic and creatures from hell but look what happened. " She nods. "You've got a point but I mean, come on. A magical realm, kingdom just going missing for whatever reason? " I stand up moving my arms about as I speak. "You never know, it ain't the first time I've read about a huge piece of land going missing, whole civilizations. " She sighs. "You read fairy tales and stories of ancient civilizations in history. Not much to go from there. " I groan. "Maybe you're right but at least we can do is check it out a tiny bit to just see. " She sighs again, standing up and taking my hands into hers. "Alright, but first let's have some fun. " Before I could respond her lips were on mine and I forget the rest.
