The Queen's Rise

To The Day!

The next morning I woke up in a nice warm bed, along side Modesty. It was like a dream, a beautiful and amazing bed, along side the love of my life who was sleeping like an angel. I kiss Modesty on the temple to wake her up. "Modesty dear, you must wake up. " Her eyes slowly open, she groans as she sits up. "Ngh...What happened? " I smile. "We went to sleep silly, come now. We must get up and get ready to leave the water kingdom. " She groans. As I begin to move out of the bed she grabs my wrist and I look at her, laughing as I see a still very tired Modesty. "Come on, just a few more minutes. " She smiles at me, it gets me. "Alright, only a few more. " I place myself back in her arms and we giggle. "Remember when we used to cuddle close at night for warmth when your family would go camping with me tagging along? " I giggle. "Of course, I'd remember you'd just silently pull me closer to you. " She smiles happily. "You wouldn't fight it though, which made it better. " She giggles a little, I join her. She presses her lips to mine, they were warm. It was a slow but nice kiss, when she parts from me we couldn't help but smile. "It seems so unreal how we ended up. " She smiles. "Yeah, it feels like it was just yesterday when we were normal girls going to school like normal humans. " She huddles closer to me, our bodies pressed up to each other as our arms were tangled around each others shoulders.

"You know I love you a lot right. " She smiles and nods. "Yeah, I know. I love you too. " She presses her lips on mine again, we melt into the kiss. A few moments had passed and I sit up, I was on top of her now and we had just finished a make out session. We hear a knocking at the door, then following after the sound of a woman's voice telling us to wake up and come to the dining hall. "We didn't get much sleep did we? " I laugh with her. I climb down off her as she climbs out of bed with me. I picked up the tunic and pants from yesterday and slip them back on. Modesty is wearing her clothes from yesterday as well. "Mind helping me do my hair? " She nods and walks over, helping me do the lace braided bun from yesterday. I turn and help her braid hers, it was a beautiful French braid. I lace up my boots as so does she. I grab my crown, slip it onto my head and grab everything of mine, which was only my bag. I help modesty make the bed like we found it and clean up her things, together we easily carried everything down. We hand our things to servants to take the bunch to the carriages. Together we walked into the dining hall, it was huge, wide and filled with agricultural influence from the water goddesses. "Morning you two, come take a seat with us. " Queen Katrina motioned for us to take a seat. Already Charlie, Morris, Jovan and Kaisa were already at the table, packed and ready. "We shall feed your men also, but please eat breakfast before heading off. " I smile, looking over at Kat and nodding. "Thank you for this and everything else. I'm in a great debt to you. " She shakes her head and giggles. "No need Nettie, you're my friend and Ally, I don't need anything back from you in favor. " I shake my head in turn. "You will. " She laughs. We all start to eat, each of us doing prayers to our Gods and goddesses. We were eating smörgås and they were mighty tasty. Kat likes Swedish food, she talks about how she wishes to visit Sweden, so I promised her one day I'd take her and she nearly cried. Along side the smörgås we had coffee and or milk, it was amazing. After breakfast we all stood up, once again thanked Kat for allowing us to stay and we began to leave. Kat grabs my arm and turns me around. "Have safe travels and good luck! " She smiles and hugs me, as we pulled apart she kissed both my cheeks, she always does this when I leave. "Safe travels. " She says once more as we wave one another goodbye. After we leave the gates of the castle I pulled myself back into my carriage. Ikram, Olufunke and Ghadir were sitting across from me again. "I didn't see you at breakfast, why's that? " Olufunke smiles. "We took it on the move, we were out in the town and helped get things together. " I nod. "Makes sense. " We had finally made it out of water kingdom territory in a few hours and were on our way too the next kingdom or the next place to camp out. I pull out my map and I look at it, pointing at the line we traced for the route with my finger. "Looks like the next kingdom's territory we'd enter is the animal kingdom. " They look at me funny. "Animal kingdom? What the hell is that? " I laugh. "Only one of the most feared kingdoms in the land, besides the water and moon kingdoms. " They shake their heads. "Are we allies with them at least? " I laugh. "Of course, I have allied with nearly every strong kingdom in the lands, only an idiot wouldn't. " They let out a breath of relief. "The king and queen are a bit much but deep down they're just sweet little animal people. " They look at me funny again. "Are they animals? " I gasp and shake my head. "No! no! That isn't what I was getting at, they love animals, that's why their kingdom is titled the animal kingdom. " They nearly laugh. "Oh! I thought you meant they were literally animals. " I laugh a bit.

For the next few hours we rode, nothing but riding then suddenly again we stop. "Nettie, come out here and look. " I slowly climbed out of the carriage and climbed on to Morris's horse. What I saw was awful, it was a village that the animal kingdom just liberated a year ago from the grasp of a demolished dictator being burnt and people were getting slaughtered. "We have to go around. " I look back at Morris. "No we must do something. " I jump from his horse and he grabs for me but he was only an inch to far. I ran, so fast I was finally getting the raiders attention. I slow down as I enter the kingdom and I slice my hand through the air, the fire that was blazing cuts out. The raiders stop killing and raiding and look at me, I was panting as my hand was glowing with rage. "Queen Nettie! What a surprise! What brings you here. " A tall man throws a man to the side as he steps forward, facing me. "None of your god damn business. I'd ask what the hell you think you're doing to these people! " The man chuckles. "Well that ain't any of your business either. So how about you take your pussy carriages and leave. " I clentch my fist. "You'll be sorry you said that. " He smirks, his teeth were shades of yellow. "Oh? Is the queen of peace getting angry? " He chuckles once more. "I said you'd be sorry! " I open my fist and release flames upon him, he screams as he catches a flame. His men and women stared in fear as he turns to a burnt corpse. "I will personally demolish all of you! " I bring the flames up and burn every single raider, their screams of pain and agony filled the village. The villagers who were left watched as the men and women who were killing off everyone falls to their knees. Once it quieted down they all looked at me, they were both scared and thankful. I began to walk, lifting my arm up to where all the flames retracted into my glowing hand.

I lowered my hand as my men and my friends begin to enter the half destroyed village. I wasn't apporched until a small boy runs up, looking at me as he hugs my legs. "Thank you! Thank you queen Nettie! " His voice was shaking from the amount of thankfulness and pain was in his voice. I could hear muffled sobs as he dug his head into my legs. "Dear! Dear? " A woman's voice was breaking the sobbed filled silence. The boy turned to a woman who shoved through the crowd, finding the boy with me. "Jonathan! " The girl cried out and the boy's hands unmatched from me and he charged to the woman, jumping into her arms. "To all of the villagers who still remain. I, queen Nettie of the forest kingdom shall help rebuild what was once rightfully yours. I will assign soldiers and give money to bring life to the way it was. " The villagers cried out in joy, soon the sound of horse's feet hitting the worn ground was heard. It was the king and queen of the animal kingdom. "Queen Nettie! " The sound of the King's voice boomed in the empty village. "We heard about what had happened, but where are the raiders? " I smirk as I throw my hands out. "All around you! I burnt each and everyone one of them into crispy bits, just to save these innocent villagers. " The kings eyes we're surprisingly softer than normal, the Hazel eyes were scared. "You didn't let a soul escape? " I shake my head at the queen. "No ma'am, I slaughtered every one who bared the symbol of the raiders. " They nod.

The king clears his throat and pulls a sword and lifts it up into the air.

"To the day! " Everyone who was present, including I had lifted a fist and screamed those three words.
