I wake up to bright sunlight and my phone ringing. Marshall is no longer in my arms, but he is still on the couch. I grab my phone and see it's a call from Jay.

"Hello" I say while rubbing my eyes.

"DUDE!" He screams as loud as he fucking can.

"Jesus Jay quiet down." I scrunch my eyes together and let out an annoyed sigh.

"Oh shit sorry. I'm just excited because we have an assignment! You get Marshall and I'll grab the others! Meet us at the edge of the woods." With that being said he hung up before I could respond.

I get up and tell Marshall. Then I change my gray shirt to a black one, and don't even bother changing mt black jeans. I throw on my Bats jacket and wait for Marshall by the door.

When Marshall comes over he hands me a cinnamon flavoured Pop-Tart. Then I open the door and let him go out first like the true gentleman I am.

Once we find the others I see Jay and Taylor jumping up and down screaming "WE'RE GOING ON A MISSION!" over and over again. I also see Grayson looking at them like the goons they are. Marshall turns to Jay.

"So what's the assignment?" He asks with a smile. Marshall and Grayson are usually really happy to get assignments. I mean we all are. We love to help out and make the Vampire Bats bigger and stronger. I love seeing Marshall smile. It makes me smile.

"Well you see another gang is trying to move into our territory on Jordan Street, so we have to go and teach them a lesson." He then holds up two cans of gasoline. Jay holds up a third, and Taylor holds up a lighter. Marshall and I both smile. This seems like a terrible idea, but it'll be fun.

Later that afternoon we arrive at the hangout. We pour the gasoline on all of their bikes and the entire hangout. Then Taylor takes the lighter and starts the fire.

We watch as the beautiful scarlet flames erupt throughout the hangout.

"Guys we need to step back, because as soon as that fire reaches those bikes they'll most likely explode," Grayson informs us.

We step back as Marshall passes us each a beer. We all take a drink and cry out in victory for we have won.

Now before you freak out, no there was no one in the hangout. This is just to send a message. We specifically told not to kill anyone...yet.

Then we take out a note that basically just says 'we did this', and nail it to a tree. The tree is far enough that the fire won't reach it, but the gang will find it.

Finally we get out asses out of there before someone sees us. We run far away, and once we are far enough we take a breather.

"Wait a minute, where's Jay!" Grayson says in a worried tone. We all frantically look around and call him name. Maybe he just fell behind or something. Then Taylor says the thing that we were all secretly thinking.

"Oh shit I think someone got him guys." We all look at her and she's on the verge of tears.

We all run back to the way we came. On our way Marshall finds Jay's beer bottle. When we get close to the hangout we start to hear talking.

"This is what you for disrespecting us. Can't fly away now little bat." A deep gruff voice says with rancor in his voice.

"No please let me go. You don't have to do this." We hear Jay. It's hard to listen to him beg like that.

We look behind a set of trees, and see Jay with a middle aged man who was pointing a gun to Jay's head. The man was about to speak again, but that's when Grayson decided to step out.

"No don't hurt him!" He shouts. It surprised me to be honest. That's gotta be the stupidest thing Grayson has ever done. He's the type of person to always think out a plan before action. What is he doing? Why is he being so reckless?

As Marshall and I are watching in fear for both of our friends lives and trying to think of a plan. We didn't even notice that Taylor was sneaking up on the man with a very large rock raised up above her head. Until she was already hitting it as hard as she could against his skull.

This of course knocked the man unconscious. It might have even killed him, but we didn't check.

As soon as the man hit the ground Grayson ran over to Jay and gave him a hug. I could tell that Grayson and Jay were both crying, so I just let them do their own thing and walked over to Taylor.

"How the fuck did you do that Taylor? I didn't notice you at all and obviously neither did this guy." I say while pointing to the unconscious man at our feet. Taylor just shrugs and picks up the gun from the man.

"Hunter dearest when will you learn that I'm literally a ninja." I gawk at her as she takes a drink of a new beer that she seemingly pulled out of thin air.

I turn to Marshall and can't help but to notice that he's slightly glaring at me. Ow that actually sorta hurts. What did I do? How did I upset him? Maybe it's because I didn't go help Jay like Grayson and Taylor did.

I decide to try my best to ignore him being angry for now and walk over to Jay. I pat him on the back.

"Are you okay Jay?" He gives me a nod and a smile.

"Yeah but come on lets just leave this shit show." And that we did. We hurried back to Bricks to let Mr. Carey know how the mission went.

Mr. Carey is the leader of the Bats. We only answer to him. He is tall and very fit for his age. He looks like an older version of Jay. Since he is Jay's dad after all.
