It's been a week since you've seen Gaara last time. It seems like you're avoiding each other. To be fair, you are avoiding him a bit, unsure what to do, what to say. You did not really talk after that kiss, you just somehow went home while he headed back to Suna.
Everything is so confusing! You've never been in this position before, you're very unsure how to act, and clearly he's the same. But what now? How is this going to end? Are you going to avoid each other, hoping everything that has happened will just un-do itself? No! That's not what you want. And hopefully, not what he wants, either.
Should you contact him first? Or should you wait? This is all very distressing.
As you pace around your room, the same way you did for the past week, there is a hard knock at your door.
You quickly run downstairs, almost plummeting down as you tripped, but regained yourself at the last minute. You open the door and there are two jonins, looking at you.
"Yeah?" You say, suspiciously.
"Elders would like to see you. Now. If you wouldn't mind." One of them says, trying to smile, while the other one is pretending he's not there. You know both of them. But you've never really talked.
"Sure. Let's go." You say as you grab your coat, following them.
"What is happening?" You ask as you are almost at Gaara's office, but they both just shake their heads.
"Don't know. But Elders are furious. It has something to do with Kankurou we think." One of them says and a cold shiver runs down your spine. They know...
"Wish me luck." You say quietly as you open the door and walk inside.
The scenery is not the most pleasant one. All the Elders are sitting around in a circle, angrily whispering, and openly glaring at Kankurou, who just stands there, quite confused. As you enter the room, he looks at you, with a quizzical expression on his face. You look back at him and shrug. Clearly you're not the only one who has no idea what's happening.
You throw a quick look to Gaara's desk, and there he is, looking very tired and annoyed. The moment he looks at you, his expression softens.
"Iki?" He asks, and you feel even more confused. What is happening?!
"Miss Ikigai, thank you for joining us. Sorry for such short notice, but the situation is dire." One of the Elders starts talking and looks at Kankurou with something resembling a despise.
"I'm very sorry to be the one to break this to you, but Kankurou's behaviour has stopped being acceptable." She continues while glaring at Kankurou, who just gives you a very confused look.
"While all the attempts have been made to make sure you two would create a strong and deep bond, Kankurou has not been acting as he should have and has been seeing someone else behind your back. We understand this may upset you greatly, but we would like to assure you, as he is an heir to the title now, we will not let it go unnoticed. The ordinary girl with no special powers or background is not acceptable compared to you and we are ready to..." Before she can finish the sentence, you can feel your pulse raising and an urgent rage almost flying through every single cell.
"Excuse me? How can you say about someone that they're ordinary, with no special power and stuff like that? Do you even know her? Do you know how hurtful this may seem? Who do you think you are judging people like this and telling them what to do? It does not matter where one came from or what jutsu they possess. What matters is how they care!" You start yelling, completely forgetting where you are and who are you talking to.
