Sitting down in her second class the next day, Mia was super sleepy. She had spent the whole night on Dead Cells and had got to the final boss for the first time but died. She hovered on the brink of sleep as Ms. Ariana rolled on and on about American history. She drifted out of the trance when someone gently shoved her shoulder. The voice of Emile greeted her ears and his face greeted her eyes as he said, "Time to get up, sleepyhead," he said. She smiled as she mumbled incoherently. She took his hand and he helped her up. "Sorry for falling asleep," Mia said. "Oh, don't apologize to me. Besides, I don't know how most people don't fall asleep in her class. You're all good!" He beamed a smile at her. "Ok thanks!" Mia said. She waved to him as she grabbed her bag and walked out to the hallway. Not looking where she was going, she walked toward third period. "Oof!" Suddenly she tripped on a binder, and the floor was rushing a her, and then she saw Jack's arms. He pulled her up, close to him. Their faces were almost touching, his arms on hers. "Well at least I can be sure you don't have acne," He said, his face flushing only the slightest bit. He gently pushed her back, and turned around. He looked back before he walked away and said, "Besides, you are only half the gender I like." Mia had no idea what that meant, but she assumed she had reached phone number level. She realized she forgot to get his number, and was about to slap herself when she noticed a sticky note on her arm where his hand was. She peeled it off and looked at it, surprised to see his number on it. Damn! I never saw him take it out. He must be good with his hands, she thought with a smirk as she left for period 3.
