"wait i wanted to ask you... did you sleep with soph" i ask him

"well uhhh.... we actually made out for a few good minutes and we were almost there but she said she wasn't ready. i didn't make a big deal out of it because i have respect for her" payton said

"aww thank u for that , i think ur super sweet for that payton" i said with a huge smile

"anyways is zephan the only dude flirting with soph?" he asked me

"noo, there's someone else" i said
"who?"
"dylan"

"of course it's dylan" he said with such an angry but disappointed face

"and i'm never gonna have a chance with her because i'm such a fuck up."

"don't say that about yourself payton"

he walks over to the bed and sits next to me
"but it's true though, this always happens to me"

"well i'm sorry that that happens to you but don't call yourself a fuck up. your not a fuck up your super sweet and courageous and if a girl can't see that then it's their loss" i give him a warm hug

"thanks madi that means a lot" he tells me

the next day, sophie pov;

i woke up this morning with the worst headache in my entire life. i get dressed for school as i hear someone say "sophh it's me can i come in" it sounded like payton so i opened the door for him

"hey payton, what's up" i say awkwardly

"hey soph can i drive u to school today?"

"sure just wait for me i'm still getting ready" i say with a smile

he sits on the bed and we talk
"sooooo do you remember last night?" he asks me

"uhhh yes i do actually"

"haha yea pretty crazy right"

"yeaa um can we pretend like that never happened? i don't want people to start stuff at school yk?" i kinda felt bad for telling him that because i knew he liked me

"um yea.. yea sure" he seemed upset

at school;

me and payton walk in together and walk to the lockers. we see haley, madi, and dylan talking so we walk over.

"ayeeee whats poppin gang" i say acting all cool but silly

"hey soph, hey paytonnnn" haley said with a smile

"heyyy" payton winked

this morning when me and payton were talking i got a text from madi saying that zephan had a girlfriend. i got upset but i was mostly pissed because no one told me about it. i was thinking about it all the way here to school so now that i'm here im gonna ask them about it.

"alright listen up, how come no one told me about zephan having a girlfriend!?!" i say so angrily

"i didn't know about that..." dylan said looking so innocent. it made me feel bad

"ohh i'm sorry :/ but still. i feel stupid for not expecting this to happen" i say

"maybe one day he will notice that you are the one" madi says

"hopefully" i put my sad puppy face on :(

"why don't you just give up on him sophie. he's a jerk and doesn't deserve you" payton says

"he's not a jerk payton. don't say that about him. he's a great guy okay " i yell at him

"sophie, he has a girlfriend... and he never even told you. what makes you think he's a great guy" he says

"i guess you're right, i'm sorry" a tear falls down my cheek because i realized that i'm so dumb for still thinking he's a great guy. payton's right he's a jerk.

"it's okay, you'll find someone who loves you way more" dylan says and comes to hug me

when he hugged me i felt something. his hug made me feel so safe which is odd because no ones hugs make me feel like his made me feel. i wish i could hug him forever so that i could always feel safe

"thank you dylan" i smile at him
