Destination to Love

Chapter Two

One day earlier at Head office of the King group

"Sir, we have received a call from Mr. King", said his assistant Harry. Daniel lifted his head from the file and looked at him. Harry knows that look very well, he answered immediately without wasting time "Mr. King wants you to visit King Mansion at 4 pm".

Daniel was beyond frustrated to hear that. He dismissed Harry by a nod. " What does dad want now? Isn't he happy that his son took over all the responsibilities and just could not go some where on holiday. He keeps interrupting in my business", he thought.

Daniel checked the clock and left his office. He got into his Porsche Mission and started the car. He likes to drive by himself except when he is going to parties in the Limo. He pulled his car in the garage and walked to the entrance. The King Mansion is a huge vintage styled Villa with white and brown marble. It had a huge pool in the voyer and grand staircase leading to the massive hall. To the right and left were the steps connecting on the first level to the rooms. Daniel climbed the stairs and met his father in the study.

Daniel's father , Joseph King was sitting on a comfortable chair near a desk and reading his favourite book collection. Daniel stood at the entrance and observed his father. He was always a man of simplicity even though he ruled the King empire. His father could be easily mistaken for a common man if not for his magnificient looks and the sound of power.

Joseph looked at his son "Come inside Daniel". Daniel pulled a chair and sat opposite to his father. "Tell me dad, why did you call me?", he asked straight to the point. His father looked sharply at him for long and then continued by turning his gaze away from him, "I am getting old son, I know you are doing a good, no great at work, but its time that you learn some other characters that helped me to build what we have now". Daniel was listening but did not understand where this conversation is leading to.

Joseph turned to look at him,"I heard that you suspended Robert Miller last week. May I know why?". Now Daniel was getting irritated. So his father has called him to give speech and involve in small office decisions. He kept patient and replied "He was late to the meeting in which he should submit an important file. When I confronted him about being late he said his train was late. I cannot accept this kind of behavior from the employees". Joseph nodded his head, " Do you know how long he has been working for our company. I understand your attitude about the work but you should not have insulted him for being late. I must say that all the work and pressure is normal at work. But day by day you are becoming cold and I want you to understand the life of common people and happiness from being simple. So its time that you hear a word from me boy. Tomorrow you have to travel by train to office and commute by train to all your appointments.", Daniel interrupted, "Dad, its not fair and does not make any sense, how could one day in a t—", "You are dismissed. You can leave now", his father told in a stern voice.

Daniel balled his fists in anger at his sides and left the room. "Danny, my dear you are home. You did not tell me that you are coming", Arabella , Daniel's mom came and hugged him. He looked at his mom. She is an angel sent to the King family. Only she could handle his father. She raised Daniel and his brother Sebastian with so much love. She was always there for them. "Mom, I am glad to see you too. I did not plan on coming here. Dad has called me" and with that he told her the conversation between him and his dad.

Arabella listened and said, "I don't know why your father said to travel in a train, but Robert is a very loyal and trust worthy employee for us. Maybe he is hurted because of the way you handled him.", she patted his arm and then she beamed with excitement 'I totally forgot, Seb is bringing is wife and kids for next weekend dinner. Don't forget to be there. I am worried about you Danny. You are still single at the age of 35. I tried to set you up with almost every girl from our societies. But never successful. I have to look in a different bucket now. Who knows maybe you will find someone in the train". Daniel laughed, "Mom you have good imagination and stop worrying about me. Your love is enough for me.", with that he kissed his mom's cheek.

Daniel is always sweet to his mother. To his eyes, she is still an angel. "Go boy, try to woo some girl', his mom replied with a smile. Daniel get into his car and started to his office thinking how the hell should he go to work without car tomorrow.
