Dark Brown Eyes

Those eyes had a lot of moments secured in them,

but now they seem cold and plain like a snowy dawn

Those eyes had a beautiful smile to them,

but now they are creased like folded paper thrown in trash

Those eyes used to speak delicately,

but now they shed relentless streams of tears 

Those eyes put a spell on everyone's attention,

but now they look monochromatic like cinder left to fade away

Those eyes used to capture hearts by their beauty,

but now they hold stories of broken trusts embedded in them 

Those eyes were once precious to someone,

but now they are not even meant to exist any longer 

Those dark brown eyes are everything left to her,

but sadly they also buried away in the beds of hot sand
