Chapter-2: Arc 1.1

"Neighhhhh!!!"

Nolan was so scared that he thought his soul would fly back to space. The first thing he saw when he opened his deep blue eyes was a greyish face with bloodshot eyes that seemed to bulge out any moment now, staring at him. The ashen living dead corpse looked at him in displeasure as "it" grimaced in disperse.

"Huh? Donkey?" A dry voice came from the chapped dark blue lips as the living dead stared at the human in front of her. She knew that the person she saved was human. Then why was he making a sound that resembled a donkey?

Donkey? Who? Me?! You dare to scare me and then call me donkey?!

A murdering aura surrounded the young man as he stared at the living dead. The girl was scared as she sensed the killing intent of human. She quickly walked off and sat at the farthest corner on the floor.

As soon as she was at a safe distance away from Nolan, he took the liberty to summon his system who had thrown him in such a situation.

'Nine, can you give me the plot details now?' Nolan asked as calmly as he could. He was still shaken from the sudden sight of that horrifying creature and on top of that, he had embarrassed himself- ah!

'Y-yes, host!' Nine, who was trying to be invisible to escape this scary host's wrath, immediately responded as he sent the plot to its host.

This was an F class world as expected; however, what Nolan didn't expect was that it could be an apocalypse world. How could they categorize it as an F class world?!

The living dead girl, who was now sitting at a distance while making herself vanish if possible, was actually the illegitimate child of Lu family. She was a cannon-fodder in this world. When the apocalypse broke out, everything was in chaos. No matter how big and extravagant your house was, the living dead army trampled everything.

At that time of despair, the only safe place was a military base. This cannon-fodder girl called LiJuan was abandoned when the Lu family had to escape to the nearest military base. LiJuan was always treated harshly, even beaten by her stepmother, Madam Lu. But she never thought that they would even sacrifice her life.

Yes, the male lead that Nolan had replaced now, Feng Chen. He was the commander of the nearest military base, especially sent to found as many survivors as possible. What he didn't know that some of his subordinates were scheming his ambush.

Hence, resulting in him getting hurt while saving the innocent. Luckily, he was rescued by this kind zombie, LiJuan, and survived. From this time on, Feng Chen protected LiJuan, that's what LiJuan thought.

He was cold and aloof but always saved her whenever she was in danger, LiJuan thought. In reality? Because of her human-like behaviour, Feng Chen thought of her as one and a commander's job is to ensure the safety of people. So, he would protect her naturally.

The second reason why he protected her and took her to their base was so that the researchers could find a cure or a vaccine maybe with her being a special case. Li Juan, who was head over heels for this young handsome soldier didn't think much about the consequences and followed him like a moth to a flame in the base.

Once there, here beautiful dream was crushed by the female lead who made sure to remind LiJuan about her disfigured face and figure. Lijuan didn't think about her appearance before coming there. She was a simple-headed pure girl.
