Denki Kaminari

The past few weeks have passed with no horrible incidents except for Mina breaking her toe during training. But that was it really. My abilities were actually getting better and I could finally control my lightning so I'm not electrocuting everyone around me, just those to close to my target. I was feeling so much happier and I felt like I finally belonged.

And then she sent me the text.

I was hanging out with the Bakusquad in the living room, watching old vine compilations and just having a good time in all, most of the class was out today for extra credit activity. And no one of us really cared about extra credit and Kat already had full marks so he didn't give a shit.

We finished one that was around thirty minutes when my phone vibrated. Me, being addicted to my phone I took my phone out of my pocket and checked the message. All of my happy emotions and my calmness completely vanished when I saw her message.

Birth Canal: You are coming to dinner on Friday. Whether you like it or not Kaminari.

I wanted to cry right there on the couch but I didn't want everyone to worry and find out. Katsuki must've noticed how tensed I was cause he calmly asked me to help him with something in the kitchen. I weakly nodded and stood up, holding his hand as we walked past the kitchen and into the elevator and pressed a button so the elevator wouldn't move or open.

"What's wrong? Did you have a thought? Are you okay?" Katsuki rambled as he reassuringly squeezed my shoulders. I exhaled and showed him the message my mother sent.

"Fuck no."

"Katsuki I have to g-"

"No, fuck her she can't just fucking control you like that." Katsuki had a terrifying angry face that I knew was directed towards my awful family.

"Katsuki, trust me I d-don't want to go but I'm afraid what they'll do if I didn't go." Then an idea popped into my head that will probably make Katsuki a lot more calmer.

"What if you come with me this time, just to make sure nothing bad happens while we're there." Kat took some time to think before he nodded in agreement. I smiled, feeling calmer and kissed him on the lips.

"Good, now I need to go to the bookstore cause I was texting your mom about a really cool book and I want to get it for her. You want to come?" Katsuki rolled his eyes, not even questioning why I had his mom's number.

"No, I'm good if you need me just call okay?" I nodded and pressed the button and the doors swung open. I already had everything I needed so I told the group goodbye and made my way to a bookstore that was nearby. I've passed by the place a lot but I've never gone in so I was kind of excited.

After walking like a gazillion blocks I finally got to the place. I swung open the door and heard a little bell that must alert whoever is behind the counter.

"Hello young man, is there anything I can help you with?" A woman in her late thirties asked with faded purple hair asked from behind the counter. She had a welcoming smile and was wearing a kind of geeky shirt.

"Yeah, so I was looking for this Lgbt book that I'm like 97% sure that you have." She came around the counter and nodded.

"Tell me more about it." She said politely as she brought me to the LGBT bookshelves. I was kind of surprised that she had so many, not many places are so open with books like these. I snapped out of admiring the books and told her about the book. Her eyes lit up.

"Oh my goodness! I love that book, I actually am friends with the author." She smiled, as she located the book. My eyes lit up.

"Wait for real? That's so cool! Are they as cool as I imagined?" I asked with big eyes.

"Even better." She grinned and I giggled. We actually talked for a long time, connecting by books and really good old movies. We actually talked so long that Kat messaged me asking where I was.

"Oh, I should probably go, my boyfriend asked me where I was." I chuckled and we moved over to the cashier.

"Is he your soulmate?" Ms. Yasui asked.

"Yep, do you have a soulmate?" I questioned.

"I do but I have not met them yet. It's okay though it does not upset me as much as it did when I was your age." She chuckled. I smiled, I was glad that she wasn't upset about not meeting them yet. She rang up my book and I thanked her.

"It was a pleasure meeting you, come back for a visit anytime Kaminari!" I grinned and waved goodbye. She was really nice. I wished that my mother was like her. Maybe we could actually love each other if she was. I sighed and walked back to the campus. I texted Kat about how nice the lady was and how I was going to be buying a lot more books in the future. Katsuki just replied with an ok and I smiled. My good mood kinda dampened when I thought about how I had to go to my parent's house soon and about what would happen this time. I hoped that Kat wouldn't get hurt, I would feel so guilty about it and I hoped this dinner wasn't another stupid marriage thing.

In what seemed like no time I got back to the dorms. And it seemed like everyone else came back from the extra credit thing and were starting dinner. I didn't see Katsuki there though so I guessed he was in his room.

"Hey, Katsuki I got the book and- What the fuck?" The cheering ceased and my soulmate and Shinsou stopped in the middle of bloody knuckles.

"Jesus Christ, I'm gone for like thirty minutes and you guys started betting without me!" I dropped the book onto Kat's desk and placed 10 dollars on the two being tied.

In the end, I was right and got 40 dollars from these hoes. Also, I had to wrap up Kat's knuckles cause they were literally bleeding. I also got soul marks that were a bright orange that looked like a grenade kinda.
