Izuku's POV

light flooded my vision as my eyelids fluttered open. A constant beeping could be heard near by. I glanced around finding white walls, a sheet, and and IV stuck in my arm held by small piece of tape. A click sounded from the door and creaked as it was opened. A male around thirty came in, he wore a simple white coat and blue scrubs, he held a clipboard in one hand while the other rested in his coat pocket.

"Good evening Midoriya Izuku. I am doctor Ecans. How are you currently feeling?" He had a gentle, kind voice, which made me smile slightly.

"Hello doctor Ecans, I feel a tad bit dizzy but that's it." The doctor smiled at me and wrote something on his clipboard. "Excuse me, but could you explain what happened? I can't really remember." He glanced up, and a small sad sighed escaped his lips.

"You were beaten pretty harshly," he began, making me flinch at the mention of it, "you arrived in a bad condition, and you were asleep for a few hours. Your father was taken to court, I don't know much after that. How often did he beat you?" He asked softly.

I sucked in a harsh breath, "h—he, um," I glanced away, frowning, "a lot." I answered quietly.

The doctor scribbled something, and continued. "Did he beat you this harshly most of the time?"

"Uh, sorta." I managed, uncomfortable with the topic. Memories seeped in, unforgiving and cruel. "It varies." I chocked out, about to burst any second. I glanced through my watery vision and saw a pained look on the doctors face.

"I'm sorry, we'll talk later. You need your rest anyway." He pursed his lips, turned and left. A few seconds passed, a chocked sob managed to get through my tight throat. I was sucking in harsh breaths and strangled cries. Bringing up my knees to my chest, I tried quieting the sobs by burying my face into the robe and clutching my hair, but the crying only worsened. I struggled to breath, feeling my chest tighten up.

The door creaked open again, taps could be heard and arms wrapped around me. A familiar smell of homemade cooking and sugar fragranced the room. I untangled my hands from the mess I call my hair and rapped my arms around her, sobbing harshly.

"Hey, it's okay, you're safe," mom cooed, "it's okay." She tightened the hug. After a few minutes my crying became soft sniffles and hiccups.

"You know you're my hero, right?" She whispered softly, "we're safe because of you, thank you." She smiled brightly, a few tears threatening to fall down her face. "Let's get out of here."

Or at least, that's what she would've said. But instead I sat there, alone, tightly hugging my knees to my chest, trying to comfort myself.

After I signed myself out, and the doctor talked to me about father, I was released to go back home. Since I didn't have a home to go back to, I went to the dorms. It was around six thirty when I opened the dorm doors, and glanced up to see everyone pause their conversation to stare.

Denki was the first one who spoke up, " yo dude, what happened to you? You look like trash, man."

I chuckled halfheartedly, "yeah, family stuff, it's fine." I waved it off and started heading towards the elevator before I got attack with questions. But before I could get there, Bakugou approached me.

"Deku, you have bruises and bandages all over your body, I'm pretty sure family stuff doesn't mean coming back like you've been beaten." Ha, if only he knew.

"It's fine, it doesn't matter, Kacchan." I tried to go around him and press the button, but he grabbed my wrist, memories flashed and father was there, roughly grabbing me. I quickly yanked my hand back, spinning around to meet crimson eyes. My breathing became harsh and unsteady. "Stop," I whispered, out of breath, "I need to be alone, please don't touch me." Quickly skimming over their faces to see their expressions, they seem startled, almost troubled. Great, I'm bothering more people with my existence. I swiftly went to the elevators and pressed the up button, getting in quickly once it came.

The doors pinged and I rushed to my room, slamming the door behind me. I heaved a sigh and plopped myself onto my bed, drifting off into a deep sleep.
