Todoroki's POV"Is he okay? What do you see?" Uraraka whispered.
"He's asleep, we could head in, or should we talk to the others about this?" I murmured back, clicking the door shut and turning to face her.
"I don't know, but did you see his reaction when Bakugou touched him? He looked like he was about to break down, and he was so scared. I mean, I know he gets jittery whenever we surprise him or touch him suddenly, but he was outright terrified." She sighed, distress leaking into her voice, "and he's covered with bruises and bandages. I can't imagine how bad it is under the bandages too, where'd he get those anyway? I just— he's not okay, and he won't talk to someone, and that concerns me. He relies on himself to do everything. And I'm not sure if he actually does this but, I—I've seen cut marks, he would always give an excuse of falling or walking into something, but they're clean, straight lines. I'm just so worried."
At this I frowned, "I noticed those too recently." Uraraka rubbed her temples, thinking.
"I don't know what to do." She breathed.
"Maybe if we can get him to open up to us? Have you tried?"
"Yes, I have, but he thinks he'll bother us, I heard him mumbling about it." She shut her eyes tight, frowning. Then reopened them, continuing. "Something's wrong, but he refuses to talk, to anyone, and—" she was cut off by a harsh gasp, to which both of us gave concerned glances. Muffled cries could be heard inside Midoriya's room. I knocked softly, then opened it.
"It's okay, I'm okay, I'm fine, it's okay—" I heard Midoriya mumbling to himself, he gripped his hair tightly, knees to his chest and face down.
"Hey," I softly spoke. His head snapped up and his eyes were wide as he looked at me.
"I'm okay." He quickly said, "I'm fine, you can—can leave." He sucked in a breath and gave a weak smile, attempting to reassure me.
"No, you're not okay. What happened just now?" I stepped inside while Uraraka peeked in, furrowing her brows as she gazed at Midoriya.
"It's fine—ine." He chocked, then clenched his jaw and frowned. He lowered his head so it could rest on his knees, "it's okay," he whispered.
I slowly made my way towards his bed, and sat down. I touched his arm, to which he harshly flinched. It was now that I realized he was shaking. Cautiously, I slid my hand from his arm to his back, bringing my other arm up and hugging him. "Izuku, what happened?" I was gentle but stern, showing him how important this was.
"I—I," he then broke, sobs wracking his body as he cried out, "I just— no I'm sorry I can't, n—no." He looked up, his round, beautiful emerald orbs consumed with tears, "I can't, I'm sorry," he then pushed me away, "just leave, it's okay, I ca—can handle this on my own, I always have just leave." He forced out, almost as if it hurt him.
I searched his eyes for anything, asking me to stay, wanting help, but they only contained dread, sorrow, fear. I frowned and gave a small nod. Walking to the door, I glanced back, silently asking if he was sure, "it's fine, go." He clenched his jaw. I excited the room and shut the door behind me, then looked to Uraraka.
"We need to go talk to everyone else, he is not okay. To fix this we need figure out what's going on."
