*Pony's P.O.V.*
I really hope her mom doesn't hurt her. We all love Beth and couldn't bear to see her hurt again. As I pondered into my room to find a good book, there was a knock on the door. I peeked out, and saw Beth crying, so I let her in and led her to the couch. "Beth what's wrong?" I asked sympathetically. "My-my mom j-just told me we w-were m-m-moving!" She blurted out then sobbing in my shoulder. She was moving!?!? She couldn't be, not after I just realized I had feelings for her. "The worst p-part is, I have no clue where or when I'll be back. She doesn't even care that I'm here, she's just taking me with her."
"Beth were all sorry for ya, do you know when you're leaving?" Soda asked tearing up. I knew what he was thinking, and so did everyone else. "Tomorrow night," she cried a little but more then reached for her pocket. "Whatcha got there Beth?" Darry asked. "Oh it's just my necklace. From my dad." After that no one bothered her, so I decided to lighten the mood. "Hey guys, did you hear about the new song by Ben E. King?" I asked hoping it would work. "Oh yeah! I love that song. Stand By Me is my jam!" Beth said as she waved her arms in the air.
I swear this girl is the weirdest person I've ever met.
*Beth's P.O.V.*
Thank god for Ponyboy. He managed to lighten the mood 99% as I helped the other 1% by dancing. "Guys I really wish I could spend the rest of the day here, but I really have to pack. Bye gang." And with that I was gone and packing in my room. It took forever but I was finally done. I went to grab my dog tags from my dresser as the devil stepped into my room. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" I covered the dog tags trying to think of a response.
"I was just umm I umm was cleaning my room," I horribly tried to spat out. She approached me with her broom and hit me while I sobbed on the ground. When I opened my eyes for a split second, I could see that as she was pounding me, it looked enduring for her. Her flawlessness outside of the house looked just the same, except for her eyes. They were like Dallas's eyes. Hard and cold, but almost never soft. Then the she-devil finally left and it was just me and my sobs.
*Tomorrow*
It was all so unreal. Everything was packed, and it was all in the truck. I still had their dog tags in my back pocket of my jeans though. I couldn't wait to give it to them. Fingers crossed that I won't cry. I just hate crying in front of people, that time at Pony's, was involuntary. I didn't want to cry by them, it just happened. As we pulled by the Curtis's house, my mom gave me a 15 minute limit.
I knocked so lightly I was afraid they wouldn't hear me. As I lifted my hand again, the movie star Sodapop Patrick Curtis opened the door for me. "Hey Beth, come on in, everyone's here." I sat lightly on the couch emphasizing I can't stay long. "Guys, I hate to say it but I'm leaving tonight. I don't know when I'll be back, or when I will see you guys, but I have something for all of you." I said as I pulled out the dog tags. I went to Dally first. "Dally, my bad boy, please stay out of trouble until I get back. I'll miss you so much. Keep pickin up broads in my honor okay?" "You know it Beth I love ya," he responded as he picked me up in a hug, and dropped me right in front of Steve. "You listen here mister, you work on that backflip, you could use it," I said whispering the last part.
"Oh now you get it Beth, GUYS GELP ME TICKLE HER!!!!", he screamed as the whole gang except for Ponyboy tickled me until Soda pulled me out. "Hey Beth, listen, go to Pony last okay? He's still a little shaken up." "Okay, here movie star, and if I don't come back, I wanna see you on the big screen with Mr. Smarts over there", I said referring to Ponyboy. He gave me a hug and I made my way over to Superman Darry. "You listen here Muscle Man, if you get more than one job me Soda and Pony'll skin ya you hear?",I said as he engulfed me in a giant hug. "Beth? Listen I'm really gonna miss you. I never thought I'd meet a best friend quite like you, but now I did, but now you're leaving. I promise I will never let anyone take your spot. Always," Johnny told me as he gave me a hug that seemed to last for five minutes.
Two-Bit Matthews, now that'll be easy. "Hey Keith what's up?" "Nothing much baby how ya hangin," classical twobit. "Not so good Two, but I've got something for you." I handed him the dog tags and he gave me a big kiss on the cheek. Lastly, there was Ponyboy. "Hey," he said awkwardly. "Hey, listen, you'll always be my best friend. No one will or can replace you." I gave him a bigger hug than I ever did. Then he mumbled something like "listenbethireallylikeyoubutwerebestfriendsButireallylikeyouandimsorry"
"What?" I said really confused. "Listen Beth, I really like you but we're best friends but I really like you. I'm sorry." It looked as if he started tearing up. I am so glad he felt that way. I thought I'd have to hide it forever. I smiled. "Pony I-" HONK HONK. Are you kidding me?!?!? "I'm sorry guys I love you all."
And with that I was gone forever.
