As the rained rolled in over the city and the empty streets got darker by the hour, Joe and Julia lost track of the time.

"Looks like I better get back home.." Joe got up to find his rain jacket still soaked.

"No..no. I can't ma... Um. How 'bout you stay here for a while longer..." clearing her throat nervously, Julia opened up the sentence she feared the most.

Without hesitation, Joe hung his coat back up and twirled Julia around her living room.

"I cannot wait for this! Are you sure?"

With her butterfly like lashes batted at Joe, "I couldn't be more sure."

And the two leaned in for another kiss.

Late night deep conversations were something both new love birds had in common. Conversations of movie sets, ex's they weren't proud of and mistakes they had learned from; led to nearly four hours of sleep.

8 A.M. came quickly for New York's newest fling. Tangled up in king sized sheets, Joe awakened Julia with a morning kiss on the cheek.

"Good morning, beautiful."

"Joe, hi there." Julia's morning voice got the best of her. "I don't want you to leave.. Can't we stay here all day..?"

The skies still looked the same as they did 12 hours beforehand.
In her favorite oversized t-shirt from her moms groupie years and the worn out shorts she only wears to bed, Julia woke up, only to playfully fall on top of shirtless Joe next to her.

"Do you really have to go?" Julia asked, playing with the red stubble on Joe's cheeks.

"Yes, dear... Meetings.. three of them." Joe's voice saddened. "But! One meeting you might know of the cast very well." He loved the expression on his girls face as her happiness came back.

Julia and Joe said their goodbyes, for then.

Though she and Joe had only known each other for 24 hours, Julia didn't have a panicked feeling in the back of her mind. She didn't think of what could go wrong - no fear whatsoever.

Maybe this can happen. Maybe it'll work out.

Julia just being a writer and Joe being the movie star, she still thought how all of this came to be..

Was it a guardian angel? Was it fate?

All Julia knew was she was on cloud nine and wasn't coming down.

With the pandemic still haunting the States, Julia grew closer with Joe. She would describe him as her security blanket.

Every afternoon Joe would come by Julia's place; bringing over new board games or movies from his place to watch later on that evening.

"Why don't you come over to my place tonight?" Joe suggested one late afternoon.

Julia's expression quickly changed.. The immediate feeling of panic and worry started to flow throughout her body.

"Uhmmmm. Why do you suggest that?"

"If our relationship is going to progress, I want you comfortable at my place as well." Joe explained easily. "I want you to see my sanctuary too. I know this is a safe space for you. I know going new places for you is frightening, but this will be good for you."

Joe leaned into Julia like he was trying to gain her trust.

"Ok, I'll go."

Joe was exacted! He helped his anxious girlfriend pack a small bag and they set sail on a new adventure for the weekend.
