Rowena rounds the banister to the staircase while going to the front door. She is quickly met with Aurora, who looks her up and down with a raised eyebrow. If only Rowena could roll her eyes, once again the universe likes to be especially cruel to her and put her in the path of the one person she would hate to see. Or maybe, the second person, considering how her last interaction with Harry had gone. Fortunately, Rowena and Harry have yet to cross paths again, mostly due to both becoming recluses in fear of each other.
"Where are you going?" She asks, no doubt in reference to Rowena's clothes and the keys in her hand.
"To Alina's," she says curtly.
Aurora's face screws up in badly hidden disapproval. Rowena can't tell if it's because her sweater only has the top button buttoned, or if it's because she was going to Alina's. Alina, in theory, is a friend her parents wouldn't be unhappy with. She is a smart and pretty girl from a good family with powerful, community involved parents. They could all be seen at church on Sunday mornings, or her dad in the O.R or her mom at the same board room as Rowena's dad. However, those things did little compared to her rebellious streak and wild nature. They often blamed Alina for their own short comings that influenced Rowena's behaviors. Aurora tries to keep an open mind, Rowena knows that, but her loyalty to their parents makes her easily swayed. They can complain about her all they want, but their control on Rowena is already slippery enough that they have resigned to the fact that Rowena has made Alina her person. They still do complain a lot.
"Be safe, please," is all that Aurora offers to that, giving her best puppy dog eyes.
"I promise I won't go jumping off a bridge," Rowena huffs.
Aurora laughs, but once again her eyes betray her uncertainty, "love you."
Rowena is out the door as she calls back, "love you too. Don't tell mom."
The drive to Alina's isn't bad, they live relatively close to each other, and it helped lighten up her mood from today's catastrophe. She doesn't bother knocking as she steps through their garage door, sending a cursory 'hello' to wherever Alina's parents are in the house. Rowena trots up the stairs and throws open the door to Alina's room.
Alina is lounging on the bed and looks up from her phone when Rowena comes in, "hey, bitch."
"Ugh," Rowena plops down on the bed beside her.
Alina pats her head like she's soothing a dog, "there, there, we're going to Adri's tonight."
Rowena perks up at that, "pregame?"
"Overzealous much?" Alina snorts. "Maybe in an hour."
"Ugh," Rowena drops her head again. "You try fucking your sister's boyfriend, who you have feelings for."
Alina sets her phone down and snakes down the bed to wrap herself around Rowena, "I'm sorry, girl."
Rowena shrugs in her embrace, "isn't much you can do about it. Although, if you were ever in my shoes I would definitely recommend not having a screaming match about it."
"Oh, you're getting so fucked up tonight," Alina said giddily, no doubt already planning her evil scheme. "Does Grey or Adrian know?"
"Haven't told them yet, but there's no reason in hiding this from them."
Alina nods, "do you just want to spend thanksgiving here?"
