"So, he's the one?" Lord Peterssen amusedly smiles to himself while watching the young queen's reddened face.
"Let us talk about something else, Uncle." Elsa emphasizes as she takes another sip of her tea.
Lord Peterssen chuckles and looks at the engagement ring circled around her finger. "Your father had once told me he would personally give your significant other a private talk." Elsa purses her lips and stirs her gaze away. "He wanted to make sure the man who claimed your and Anna's hand would truly be worthy of his girls." Sighing, she weakly smiles. "And I feel responsible for that."
"Jack is amazing, Lord Peterssen," Elsa assures. "Arendelle is lucky to have him as king."
"Are you lucky to have him as your husband?"
Letting a comfortable silence lingers for seconds, Elsa finally looks up to the old man and nods. "I am."
She doesn't know why or how, but she is sure Jack is a blessing for her. Despite all of this arranged marriage, she is lucky to have Jack by her side. Any woman would've felt the same thing.
Lord Peterssen smiles and takes the queen's hands in his. "Your father had been dreaming of this very moment, my child." He doesn't even realize tears are starting to fall from his wrinkled face. "How I wish..." He cannot continue his words.
"I know." Elsa rubs the man's hands and motions herself closer.
"He would be very happy." Lord Peterssen chuckles breathlessly. "Uttermost happy." Elsa can feel her eyes watering as well and nods. "When was the last time you visited them, Elsa?" She knows exactly what that uncle of hers is inferring.
"Last spring," Elsa answers. "Anna and I visited every year. She made sure my schedule was cleared every time we did. The four of us always had a lengthy discussion." She bitterly smiles and Lord Peterssen smiles in understanding.
"Have you brought Jack there?" Elsa shakes her head, letting her gaze falls to the carpeted floor. "Perhaps you should, my child. Anna should take Kristoff as well." Lord Peterssen pulls one hand away from Elsa's hold and lifts her chin up. "I do believe your parents need to grant both of you their blessings. They would want to be a part of this important step of your and Anna's journey."
The young queen smiles and nods. She wonders why she hasn't thought of it before. "We will, Uncle."
"Oh! Let me handle that, Your Highness!"
"You have done too much, Prince Jackson."
"It's okay, Your Highness, let me do the rest!"
Jack sheepishly smiles as the maids keep stopping him from helping them with the dishes. Northern Isles is as tiny as it is and there aren't many servants scurrying around the palace. Jack and Emma would usually assist a few old women inside the kitchen—which then resulted in a few hours of soap fight. He is used to washing his own plates and, sometimes, making his own bed. So, it annoys him a bit the maids here refuse to let him lend a hand.
"I understand you want to help, Prince Jackson," He turns around and sees Olina carrying a tall pile of plates. "The royal princesses of Arendelle will try their best to help us, too—especially, Princess Anna because she has more free time than her sister and is, well, more stubborn." The cook giggles and hands over the pile to another maid. "But they have done so much for us and this is how we thank them." The maids simultaneously look at Jack and nod as well with a grateful smile on their faces. "We are the happiest when we can work for the sisters and their family."
Jack smiles and nods. He admires how the maids, possibly everyone, in the kingdom pay so much respect to Elsa and Anna.
Well, those women really are something. They have the kindest hearts.
