"Big mama!!" I yelled.
"Yes Neek" she replied.
"I'm bleeding, I think I started my period " I happily told my grandmother.Growing up I was always the late bloomer. My cousins got literally everything before me so I wasn't surpised that at 11 and 12 everyone had their period except for me.
"Neek, you have to get in the shower and bathe real good and then put on this pad like I showed you." Big mama told me.
2 months ago Big Mama came from Georgia to get me from foster care in Florida. My mom had another overdose and I couldn't revive her so I called the police. She blames me for her being in prison and I believe she hates me. I hope she does because the feelings mutual. I wish she just stop trying to be my mother and just be Jade Miller, a stranger.
"Neek, hurry up" Big Mama yelled.
I was running late and I wanted Big Mama to drop me off so that means she can't be late for work. I got in the car and BM had her gospel blasting, she always said that set her mood for the day.
We arrived at school and I was nervous as hell but I was cute. I'm the new girl and no one ever likes the new girl. Big mama took a picture of me and kissed me goodbye.
I was in the hallway looking for my locker when I noticed a pretty hispanic girl struggling to get in her locker.
