The next day Voki came to pick me up as promised. We slowly gather my things and walked to my place. My bike has been returned to it's the rightful place in the tiny little garage. And my house is actually only 10 minutes away from the hospital.

Voki dropped my bag near my cabinets and plopped onto my bed. "Well, I know you stay alone but this is actually cozy."

My room is a simple 4 walls, detached little building. It's a tiny double-storey, the ground floor is the garage, where my bike is with my collection of hoverboards, and the first floor is my living space. Through the door on the right is a tiny kitchen and beyond that is a laundry room. When you walked in pass the kitchen you stand in my little room, with a single bed by the window, and a desk next to it. The whole room is crammed with shelves and cabinets, mostly filled with spell books and other assorted magic items. Although it sounds cramped it is cozy, and I even have a small veranda where I grow some plants.

I have a hobby of decoding ancient spell books and scrolls that I find from old bookstores. I also do physical workouts in my garage when I feel bored. Days with classes I usually work at night in a local bar as a bartender, and other days I go to the magic race tournaments, hence the hoverboard. I mean the money there is good.

Even though me and Voki were from the same orphanage, this lucky ass got himself adopted to a rich family, while I never got adopted. So we both live totally different lives now.

"Yea well this must be awfully tiny compared to your room eh." I sat down in front of my desk and flicked on my computer screen, checking my emails. "You're not wrong~ haha but I like it here." He watch Yoru settled at the veranda and turned to me. "You're sure you don't want me to go with you to the House of Arcanas?" "Yes I'll be fine. Go home Voki." I told him about the meeting with the Royal Mages and how I am summoned to the Arcana holder.

"No I want to wait for you, I promised you a meal for your birthday, so technically I owe you." When he said that I realized that I just passed my 22th birthday with the most eventful day. Ah well, that is better than getting a meal and drink til we pass out.

"Then you can wait here, please." I didn't want him to follow me everywhere all the time for obvious reasons, I didn't want people to start taking. Our status has now become too different for us to be like our past selves, where we didn't give a single damn. He is now someone important, as an heir to a noble family.

"Fine... And I'm guessing Yoru will tag along with you." With that said Yoru has already shrink into a small cute size and perched at my shoulders, dozing off. I shrugged, and he sighed. "Well don't mind me then, I'll take a nap with your cats if they ever pop up." I have 2 cats who likes to wander around the neighbourhood and occasionally comes back for food and cuddles.

"Just, wait." I closed the door and went down to the garage as I fire up my bike. Soon I am on the way to meet the person that concluded my destiny.

The House of Arcana is a white building near the borders of the city, surronded by a huge garden filled with trees and statues. There was no gate, no fence, just a few guards patrolling the garden. I quickly walked towards the entrance, when I saw Ferox standing there with another mage.

I was hoping they would not turn up when I left the hospital, even ignoring a few messages. Guess not. "Good afternoon Miss Kuro, the hospital informed us of your discharge today, so I made it upon myself to wait for you here." Ferox gave me a slight nod, and his friend did the same. I couldn't see his face as it is hidden under his hood. "Hi Leader Ferox..." "Ferox will do." I don't know why, Ferox is giving off a different vibe today, I think... maybe less strict? "Come, we shall meet the Arcana Holder."
