Hi there. Eliza Gilly here I'm 17 years young, the fraternal twin sister of Elena Gilbert, we are the younger sisters of Jasper Gilbert and older sisters of Jeremy Gilbert so we're 4 siblings all together.
Jasper is 19 he is currently studying at college, Whitemore college to be precise, Jas, Jeremy and I were joined at the hip Elena was more so close to her friends even though her and I were extremely close as sisters should be.
Jeremy, Elena and I are studying at Mystic Falls High school, we took four months off because of a tragedy that occurred this summer going, my parents passed away from a car crash on Wickery bridge, I agree great conversation starter right. But no it happened, it happened the night Elena decided to become rebellious and go to a party where her and her boyfriend at the time Matt Donovan who I like to call Matty Blue Eyes talked about their futures and she wasn't feeling it anymore so they broke up. She asked mom and dad to pick her up from the party early and that's when my dad lost control of the car and they plunged into water. Elena somehow survived it all but I still believe there's more to the story than that.
It broke me. My parents were dead, we no longer had a legal guardian until my moms sister Jenna Sommers stepped in and nurtured us. Losing your parents, the pain and heartache was second to non, nothing will ever be the same in our lives again. Not seeing their faces everyday not hearing them laugh and dad tell his dad jokes had to be the hardest part. Family to me is everything and when they passed they took pieces of my hearts with them leaving my chest hollow and empty.
I got through it. I taught myself that living without them was going to be okay i'll be okay I had to step up for my family be strong for them, someone had to be the anchor and that was me, Jeremy took it the worst from all of turning to drug and alcohol abuse as much as I tried to help him he was deteriorating and rebelling each time making it worse for himself and all of us. Jasper he kept to himself more which broke my heart because we were inseparable at one point hopefully it'll get better for us and we can all unite again. Elena she had her own coping mechanisms, we both kept journals and wrote about things as if we were telling our parents what was going on in our lives.
All I can hope is that they found peace.

Today was a new day, a chance to start fresh, a chance to not be that sad little girl anymore, I will be strong for my siblings, I will smile and it will be believable. Mom and dad life is so hard without you but I'm learning to cope, your forever in our hearts and up there watching over us. I love and miss you. <3
Today Eliza Gilbert will be reborn.
