Andy's pov
The last few weeks have been very tricky. Rye has been broken about the fact that his father doesn't want him anymore and that he drags other family members with him. He is doing better though. He has support from a lot of friends. Or should I say we get a lot of support. All the people we've told about us have been nice to us. My mum drove to the band house so she could take me and Rye out for dinner. She wanted to meet Rye like my boyfriend instead of a friend. It was a really nice evening. I didn't expect anything else honestly; my mum has always been supportive of every decision I make in my life. My mum was very sad hearing the story of Rye's coming out. It is pretty devastating. Rye told her not to worry about him, and let it be. He talked over it about the weather lately and the beautiful sunsets we've seen together.
I was in Rye's room to put back some laundry of him while he was taking a shower. I lifted his travel bag when suddenly something fell out. It was a little gift, wrapped in brown paper wrapped with a bow made from rope.
"Rye sweetie? What is this?"
Rye came in the room with just an towel wrapped around his waist. He held me from behind while he looked at what I was holding.
"Oh, I totally forgot about that!" he let me go and took it from my hands. He walked away but immediately turned around and handed me the package: "It's for you bub."
I looked at him confused but took the package and unwrapped it. A cute wooden bunny sculpture revealed itself.
"Oh my god Rye! Where did you get this?"
"In Austria, where you were trying on that sweater, remember? I bought it as a surprise for you but totally forgot about it."
I smiled and hugged him.
"I love you bunny." Rye said and kissed my head. I let my hands trail on his back ending on the towel on around his waist.
"Mind want to take this off."
"Ok guys! Where are we going Saturday? I thought London, but I heared Manchester is also really good and-"
"Robbie, Robbie. What are you talking about?" Rye and I were sitting downstairs in the kitchen. Rye was cooking something and I was watching him. Robbie entered all excited and I have no idea why.
"Pride you sillies! It's June! Pride month!"
"And you think we should do something about it?" Rye asked while pointing with his spoon towards me and himself. Robbie nodded intensely.
"What about the London pride? It's close and I heard Vee and the others are going there too." I suggested. Rye was ok with it.
Saturday came faster then I thought and soon not only me and Rye, but the whole house was dressed up with flags and paint on their faces.
"Why are you coming?" I asked.
"Taking pictures." Robbie, Conner and Alex said.
"To support you, of course!" Harper said.
"I am coming for the booze." Sonny said and Brook nodded in agree behind him. We laughed and went on our way.
Pride was not a new experience for me, as I have more gay mates. But this time, it seemed different because I was not celebrating other people's happiness, I was celebrating mine as well. Rye seemed a little uncomfortable at first but quickly found his way around the crowd. I was wearing a tie dye rainbow shirt with some white shorts and a bandana, while Rye was wearing a black tank-top with a rainbow heart on it. He combined that with black jeans and white air-forces. I don't have rainbow stuff other then my shirt, but the boys seemed to have bulked in with pride stuff. Sonny was wearing a pride flag as a cape and Harper was wearing a rainbow cowboy head. But what made me laugh the most, was Brooklyn. He was wearing a rainbow shirt with sleeves that had wings attached to them, making him look like a gay flying squirrel. The other boys painted a rainbow on their faces.
We got an stall who had flags for every sexual orientation or gender preferences. We saw they also had bi flags and -paint. I bought the flag and wore it around as a cape. I turned around for a second and saw that Rye had painted the bi flag on his face. I laughed and wrapped my arms around his neck to give him a little kiss.
