{This chapter will be in two parts because there is a lot happening. I hope you enjoy!}-Ciel's Study-
"Houndsworth? What for?" I asked.
"The Queen asked me to help build a health resort there, but at the moment, it's not fit for a resort." Ciel explained.
"Where you come in, Larkspur, is that the whole village is overrun with dogs. Surely your ability would be of use." Sebastian said.
"Anything to help, young master." I answered.
"One more thing. You are not to tell the others. Understand?" Ciel asked.
As much as I wanted to disagree, I couldn't. I bowed, "Yes, young master."
"Good. You may leave now." Ciel told me.
-A Week Later-
Sebastian was driving Ciel in the single carriage. I was in the back with everyone else. Finni, Mey-Rin, and Bardroy were singing, "Resort, resort, we're so happy!"
If only they knew the reason for this trip. Finni said, "Isn't this wonderful, ladies? I'm so moved!"
"Yes, yes! I can't believe he's taking us with him to the Queen's health resort!" Mey-Rin excitedly.
"Yes." I replied, smiling.
"I guess even the young master has his good points!" Bardroy said. Finni and Mey-Rin nodded.
I still feel horrible keeping this from them, but as I saw the sign, I had a feeling that they would find out about the true nature of this trip soon. Everyone saw the sign and the tree next to it. It had chains and spiked collars all over it. They freaked out. Ciel turned around and said, "I forgot to tell you something. This is the planned construction site for the health resort."
Everyone cried, "Young master..."
"Ho, ho, ho." Tanaka replied.
The carriage ride went on. Then Finni exclaimed, "Hey, I found the first villager!"
Sure enough, it appeared to be an elderly woman rocking a baby carriage. Finni said, "Stop the carriage, Tanaka!"
The carriage slowed to a halt. Finni hopped out and said, "I'll help you out there, Granny!"
Mey-Rin and Bardroy looked shocked. Mey-Rin exclaimed, "No, Finni! If you're not careful, the baby will--"
"What?" Finni asked, pulling the baby carriage in the air above his head.
"Finni..." I sighed.
Then he realized what he was doing, then put it down. He yelled, "I'm so sorry!"
Mey-Rin asked, "Is the baby all right?"
We looked inside the baby carriage and saw a pile of bones. The elderly woman said, "This child was eaten by it."
She pushed the carriage and started singing, "The white dog is a good dog, the disobedient black dog is a bad dog..."
"Apparently there are many villagers missing or violently killed. Part of my job is to find the cause and dispose of it." Ciel said.
While we were riding, the song bothered me. We saw a large lake. Bardroy exclaimed, "It's startin' to actually look like a resort!"
We made it to the town. We saw a man giving commands to a dog, then hugged it afterwards. Mey-Rin was blushing, "Wow, I'd like him to pet me, yes!"
I chuckled. The more I look at this town, the stranger it seems. We finally arrived at the manor. A maid with silver hair was waiting for us. She asked, "The Earl Phantomhive, I presume?"
"Yes." Sebastian replied.
She bowed and said, "Welcome to Barrymore Castle. My master awaits your arrival."
We all looked at her. I will admit she looked beautiful. Even Mey-Rin thought so. I turned around to see Finni blushing and awestruck. I felt a pang of jealously, but I didn't say anything. We unloaded the luggage while Ciel, Sebastian, and Angela went inside the manor. Finni was daydreaming. I could only assume it was about Angela. Bardroy yelled, "Finni, quit starin' into space! Hurry up and carry luggage! Get a move on!"
Finni eventually got up and helped. We've only seen Angela today. What's so special about her?

-Basement-
"Wow, so you're the only maid at this estate?" Bardroy asked.
"That's amazing! You impress me, Angela, yes!" Mey-Rin praised.
Angela looked down, "Nonsense. I'm utterly unsatisfactory..."
"Let us know if there's anythin' we can help you with. We servants gotta get along. Right, Finni?" Bardroy said.
"Yes, of course!" Finni answered.
"You're all so kind." Angela told us. Then we heard a bell ring.
Angela stood up, "Please excuse me. My master is calling."
She walked out. Finni was staring at the door. I still felt jealous.
-Later That Night-
Me and Mey-Rin were walking around, then we looked inside a crack at Lord Barrymore's door. It was him and Angela, but she was sitting on a chair. Lord Barrymore was on his knees, rubbing her calves. He said, "Angela...Angela... The Queen wants my village! You understand, don't you? I'll protect this village!"
While he was saying this, I noticed that Angela didn't look fearful, but very commanding. It made me wonder who was really in charge here. Mey-Rin backed up and whispered, "The maids saw! They saw what should not have been seen. yes!"
Her nose began to bleed. I handed her a hankerchief. Then we all heard howling. We all ran outside. Ciel, Sebastian, and Angela were outside as well. Bardroy asked, "What the devil's the fuss about?"
"The demon hound has appeared." Angela answered.
"Demon hound?" we asked in unison.
Angela nodded, "It brings calamity upon the village. Those who defy my master are punished by the demon hound. This is the law of this village."
Then we saw villagers walking toward us with torches. One of them said, "Angela, please tell Lord Barrymore that the demon hound has come."
She looked surprised. She asked, "Who's been punished?"
-Time Skip-
We saw a bloody and bruised body on the ground. It was the nice man we saw earlier. Bardroy said, "That's awful."
Ciel inspected his body, "I see."
"Don't touch!" boomed a loud voice.
We all turned around to see Lord Barrymore. He continued, "So, James was the bad dog?"
"Yes. Apparently, he broke the five-dog rule and kept a sixth dog." a villager explained.
"I see. Then this was inevitable." Lord Barrymore replied.
"Hey! How can you say that?!" Bardroy exclaimed.
"This village has laws I have decreed. Those who break them are punished by the demon hound who protects the Barrymores!" Lord Barrymore explained.
Then the villagers started singing that song we heard earlier. I hugged myself to keep myself from trembling. Lord Barrymore said, "I was sure the outsiders would be its prey. You've had a narrow escape."
I looked at him in shock. Lord Barrymore and Angela walked away with the villagers carrying away James's body.
