I sat on the edge of the bed, the room cloaked in soft shadows and silence. My thighs pressed tightly together, trying to suppress the slow, unbearable throb that had rooted itself deep inside me. The heat was rising again—ravenous and cruel—and every breath I took seemed to stoke the fire rather than extinguish it.

Then the door clicked.

I didn't even lift my head.

I didn't have to.

I could feel him.

Alex.

His scent—clean from a shower, but still primal—hit me first. Then came the rustle of the towel slung around his hips, the low hum of his breathing.

"You're burning up again," he said softly, his voice like gravel laced in silk.

I looked up, my throat dry. "It's manageable."

"Liar."

I held his gaze, refusing to flinch.

He stepped forward, water still glistening across his chest, dripping slowly down the carved lines of muscle that made my mouth water. Shadows from the dim bedside lamp danced along his torso, accentuating every scar, every hard edge.

He stopped in front of me. My legs dangled off the bed, and he stood so close that the hem of his towel brushed my knees.

"You keep fighting it," he murmured, golden eyes scanning my face like he could read every crack. "Why?"

"Because if I don't," I whispered, "I'll ruin you."

He smirked faintly. "Or maybe I'll ruin you."

Something in me snapped. Maybe it was the smug tilt of his mouth. Or maybe it was just the unbearable heat that refused to be tamed. Either way, I moved.

Fast.

I grabbed the edge of his towel and yanked it loose in one motion.

He didn't stop me.

Didn't speak.

He just stood there as the towel fell to the floor—and gods, the sight of him made something inside me coil tight and desperate. He was already hard, thick and heavy, and the hunger I'd been wrestling with roared to life.

I looked up at him from beneath my lashes and whispered, "Let me."

He didn't answer.

He didn't need to.

I leaned forward and took him into my mouth.

His breath hitched—just slightly—as I swirled my tongue over the tip, tasting salt and something uniquely him. My hands braced against his thighs as I eased him in deeper, slow and deliberate, savoring the way his body shuddered at my touch.

He tangled a hand in my hair, not guiding—just anchoring.

"Fuck, Bella," he groaned, head tipping back as I worked him with my mouth. "You're going to break me."

I hummed in response, sending vibrations through him, and he swore again, hips twitching forward. I teased the underside of him with my tongue, using just enough pressure to drive him wild without giving him release.

His grip on my hair tightened.

"Stop," he growled, voice taut with restraint. "Unless you want me to come in that smart mouth."

I pulled back, lips glistening, and smirked up at him.

"You say that like it's a threat."

In a flash, he moved.
