This is a flash-forward into these characters, I feel like this should be the first thing you should read to hopefully get to know my story-telling style. Then, I suggest you pick up at the "Prologue" and "The Day I met Him" to start the story. This is mostly for all the people who told me on Pinterest to make this an actual story, instead of one quick excerpt. Shoutout to you guys. I hope this convinced you to give my story a real shot! 🤗🤍

The hero and villain stood there own on that bloodied battlefield. The Hero Agency had just found out that one of the most influential families' heir of the Villain academy was meddling and aiding one of the Hero Agency's Heroines.

Foolish beings. The Villain, who was the heir, didn't give a damn about his father's legacy; he only cared for her. And there she was standing not more than an arms distance away, drenched in crimson blood and dusted with the ashes of the explosions; her hands shaking, ever so gently. Most people would think it was because of the trauma of the fight, but he knew better. He knew her. She was a force, she felt alive.

"So now what" said the hero, tears filling her burnt umber eyes. "We both just defied our allegiances, wh-what do we do now" she stuttered, confusion and panic starting to seep into her mind.

The Villain stepped closer. "We run. Your people are after you, and my father is after me. We can't stay here" his eyes silently pleading that she would agree.

"Okay" she replied, shocking herself and him. A grin spread across his painfully stunning face. When their eyes connected, relief filled their gaze. For once, they were on the same page, she thought to herself.

He moved another step closer and placed his hand in front of her for her to take. And she did. In a few moments they were on the road in a hot wired black 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham.  There was a Toyota that would have been easier and less discrete, but the Villain scrunched his nose at this, making the Hero laugh.

His hand rested absentmindedly on top of hers on the console. As the roads turned to unfamiliar highways, he thought back to when he first met her. God, that was a long time ago. They accidentally ran into each other on a secret co-op mission that neither one's academy knew about. He remembered how she almost broke into a full on fight sequence against him. She looked like a pure elite; in her silver and white leather uniform and the hero emblem attached to her collar like a war medal or... a barcode. It was almost like she was a manufactured from the Hero agency's own sinless hands. Then he thought to when he discovered her real identity.

I was running another off-the-book co-op mission at the Hero Agency headquarters. Spying on whoever my father wanted me to spy on was kind of my speciality. There she was sitting amongst 50-60 of her of all her peers dressed in pleated silver once more. But there was something off about her. Yes, she still looked pure and fair, but in a different way. The top of her brown hair was wet and matted to her forehead with little droplets of water.

Her eyes were focused outside; it was pouring. One of the worst storms the town has seen. When the lightning struck, her eyes widened and when the thunder sounded everyone's shoulders shielded up, but not hers. I bet if she could press her face to the glass and watch the rain for the rest of time she would. I watched her, watching the rain, that whole damn meeting. And for the rest of the day I wondered how something so pure and polished could be so infatuated with something so unpredictably relentless.

If he only knew he was staring at the rest of his life.

The villain snapped out of his nostalgic memories, when the hero spoke.

"Hmm? I didn't catch that" said the Villain.

"I saaaaaid what are you smirking about?" the Hero teased. He didn't even realize he was smiling.

"Oh nothing" he replied, "just thinking back to when you kicked my ass" he teased back.

She burst out laughing and he joined shortly after. "Oh yeah, one of my most finest moments" she replied.

So they laughed and by doing so created a safe haven in each other; sheltered from the harsh world, but insulated between those cool leather seats and the fresh evening air.
