Season: one

Y/n's POV

"Hey f/n-Chan will you wait with me at the boy's volleyball practice?" My friend, Aiko asked. She had been flirting back and forth with the captain of Nekoma's volleyball team.

"Sure," I sighed. I knew it would end up with me standing around her and Kuroo as they blushed at each other. But what are friends for.

After class we headed over to the gym.

She ran over to say hi to him and he grinned as soon as he saw her. I smiled at the ground from second hand embarrassment.

"No you're so stupid! Anyone could have gotten that ball," I heard a voice come through the door. A shorter guy and a really tall guy walked in together arguing.

"Yaku-San the ball was headed right towards my neck I couldn't get it," the taller student said.

"That's when you back up and receive it Lev," the boy, Yaku replied annoyed.

"Easy for you to say. You could have done an overhand receive," Lev replied quietly.

I smiled at what I had over heard and looked at the ground.

"AGH-"

I looked up to see Lev on the floor and Yaku walking over him.

That's when I laughed out loud. I covered my mouth quickly and looked away.

"He got what he deserved," Yaku said and nodded.

I looked up and smiled at him. He walked back over Lev and stood in front of me.

He bowed slightly and I returned the gesture. "I'm Yaku Morisuke," he said and smiled.

"I'm f/n l/n," I replied. A small silence stood between us. "My friend has become close with Kuroo..." I tried to explain why I was there.

"Oh Aiko-san, yeah.. that's cool," he said.

Kuroo and Aiko had finally parted ways. While Aiko returned to me, Yaku had to go to practice. He waved a small bye and smiled.

Aiko looked back and forth between us while making small gestures. I rolled my eyes at her.

"You guys would be so cute together. Especially because of the height," she commented. I was short for being a third year, but so was Yaku.

We stayed through the end of practice and even helped clean up the gym. I pretty much followed Aiko around but then she had to help "organize the closet" with Kuroo.

So I leaned against the gym wall and waited for her.

I heard Yaku and Lev arguing again. About the same thing earlier.

"Hey! L/n! Could you help us settle this?" Yaku called to me.

I looked at the closet, but realized it could take them a while in there.

"Sure," I said and walked over to them.

"Great! So l/n try and receive this ball," Lev said and backed up. Yaku also moved so he was about 6 feet away from me. He bumped it forward to me and I did what Yaku told Lev to do earlier.

I backed up and bumped it up. Yaku received it towards Lev and Lev got mad and spiked it.

The ball flew right to the space between Yaku and I. I dove for it, but so did he. We crashed into each other, but the ball did go up. Lev caught it and dropped it immediately, rushing towards us.
