The smell of fresh paint filled your head as you took the first step into your new house. You carried a 3ds and your phone in your hoodie pocket as well as a mini bag filled with all of the essentials for a long drive.

Of course the drive was over now and you were standing in the entrance of the clean and untouched kitchen. "(Y/n), can you please go help your mum unload the suitcases from the car?" Your dad asked.

Your dad was about the same height as you, he was a few inches taller though. He had pale skin and brown hair with a couple of gray ones. He used to work at a university in Italy where he taught Chemistry. There you grew up and he taught you and your mother English. But not too long ago he got a job at Cambridge for another university that payed better.

You walked outside to see your mom looking at the sky with a worried expression. You looked to see what she was staring at and you noticed a big gray anvil cloud floating just North of you both.

"We better get these boxes in before the storm hits dear." Your mum said picking up the box she set on the ground and rushed inside.

Your mum had blonde, almost albino looking hair. She was taller than your dad but only by an inch and she never lets him forget it. She was a little more tan and skinny looking as she had previously worked as a tennis coach and was focused on keeping a healthy diet and making sure she stayed in shape.

She was able to find another position for a tennis coach in the next town over so she was in quite a good mood for the day.

"That's the last of them!" You said cheerfully as you set down the last box labeled glassware  on the counter near the sink.

"Thanks for the help dear, the moving truck should be here in about another hour or two to bring the rest of our stuff." Your dad said as he hung up the phone. "For now could you help unpack the boxes that can be unpacked?" He asked.

You nodded and opened the box you just set down with the house key your mom gave you on the drive here. As you opened it you could smell the scent of your old house.

You realized as you picked up the glass plate that things were going to be a lot more different than you expected it to be. I mean this was a whole other country across Europe.

You put the plate up in the cabinet next to the fridge and continued putting up the plates, bowls, and cups until there was nothing left in the box. Then you decided to have a look around the new house.

You walked around downstairs first. The living room was the biggest room in the house. There was a bathroom next to the guest room down a hallway. Then of course the kitchen was next to the dining room and the stairs were next to the living room. There was a small bookshelf underneath the staircase that had a dried up leaf on it and dust.

You walked up the stairs and were met with two rooms and a closet for the water heater. You opened one of the doors to the rooms and found a bedroom. The view outside was in the front of the house. You assumed this was your parents room because of the larger window and the bigger size of the room. There was a bathroom in the room as well and the floors were carpet.

You walked out and opened the door to the other room which you assumed was your room. It was a carpeted room as well and it had a bathroom too. You looked out the window and saw the view of the garden. You were satisfied with the view that you had and the windowsill was even wide enough so you could sit on it and it had a built in bookshelf in the wall underneath. You assumed the previous owner used this room as a study room.

You sat down your bag on one of the shelves of the bookcase and then admired the view from your window for a while after opening it.  You remembered that you had always wanted something like the windowsill in your room so you could read and look out the window anytime you wanted. Now you were more excited for the new life you had.

As you admired the view you noticed a couple drops of water fall from the sky. Suddenly a couple turned into a lot and then it was pouring. Though the ground swallowed up the water like it was thirsty. It did feel a little dry out when you got here so you figured it was a good thing it started raining.

(Timeskip)

You opened your eyes quickly after feeling a drop of the cold rain on your nose. You realized that you had fallen asleep on your windowsill witht he window open and now it was soaked and when you lifted your head off the side of the window it ached and was sore. "great..." you mumbled and got up off of the windowsill, feeling the soft carpet beneath your feet.

As you walked downstairs your parents looked at you. "So how is the house? Do you like your room?" Your dad asked and you nodded quickly. "I love the house a lot! Especially my room it's like I have always wanted." You said cheerfully. They nodded "Yea that's why we settled on this house" they said smiling at how happy you were with the house.

The rain let up after a couple of minutes and then the sun peaked out from the side of the towering cloud that previously cried. You walked outside and let the warm sun poke at your skin as the evening made the sky look orange and pink. You looked down the sidewalks at the neighboring houses and the tall towering trees that gave the yards and houses nice shade.

You watched as a car passed by and smiled at a small child looking out the window at you. Looking down the road you saw a large truck coming closer and slowing down. You noticed the words "Sanders's Moving co." On the side of it as it got closer and ran inside.

"Moving truck is here!" You yelled and your parents followed you back outside and talked to the movers. You all started unloading boxes and taking them into the rooms they belonged in and the movers tood care of the furniture.

Soon enough everything was inside the house but by then everything was dark and there was a slight drizzle. You walked up to your room where everything was disorganized and still in boxes. You sighed "At least my bed is put together" you said to yourself and opened one of the boxes with your sheets and blankets in it and began making your bed.

Once you were done you flopped down onto your bed and stared at your ceiling.

(Flashback)

Your long uncut hair tangled around your fingers and you raised a hand up and traced the lines on your ceiling. Tears streamed down your face as you listened to a song that never failed to make you cry. A book you enjoyed to much was sittingbin the trash, soaking wet, with slurs and names written on it. What a mess you've made of yourself...

(Flashback ended)

You raised a hand up and traced the lines on your ceiling once more as you had done hundreds of times. And felt your eyes get heavy before drifting off to sleep...
