Your eyes fluttered open, confused on where you were for a second. As you felt yourself slowly wake up, you recalled the memories of yesterday.
Yesterday was the second day living in this uplifting town. It had rained all day, a very cold rain. This led you and your parents to spend the whole day unpacking the mess of boxes and rearranging the furniture the way you all wanted it.
So there you were, laying in bed and staring at a brand new ceiling. The air in your bedroom felt crisp and dry. It was very warm in your room to the point you were almost sweating. Moving your feet out from under the covers usually worked but this time it didn't. You huffed and slowly and painfully sat up. Your shoulders were sore from moving heavy boxes around.
You threw the comforter off of you and took a sip of the now room temperature water you had next to you on your nightstand, hoping that would take the dry feeling out of your mouth but of course it didn't. You sighed and stood up, feeling the soft carpet under your feet was something you were going to have to get used to.
You walked towards your window and pulled aside the yellow curtains that had small daisies on it. You then opened up your window and let the cool breeze in, sending chills up your spine but in a refreshing way.
You looked in the mirror that sat on your nightstand and sighed
"I am a mess..." you said to yourself as you examined your morning face. After fixing your hair, you decided you were hungry and walked downstairs. The cold hardwood floor felt unsettling as you stepped out of your room.
You walked downstairs carefully so you didn't end up speed walking down them and potentially fall. Your parents, sitting down at the dining table, both looked in your direction.
"Good morning dear, a bit sore I presume?" Your dad said as he took a sip of bluberry tea that made the area around him smell like bluberry muffins.
"Yea, Those boxes sure did take a toll on me, looks like I need to get back in shape." You said smiling and rubbing the back of your neck.
Your parents smiled and your dad chuckled a little.
"Oh we got donuts for breakfast if you wanted any." Your mom said suddenly pointing to a box on the stove.
"Thanks!!" You said happily as you clapped your hands together, then walked to the box and put one on a plate. After that you walked to the fridge and poured a glass of chocolate milk.
You sat down at the table with your parents and started eating. Chocolate milk was one of your favorite drinks so you bet that was gone in a matter of a couple of minutes.
"So what do you plan to do today?" Your parents asked you as you took a bite of your donut.
"Well.. I plan to... walk around town and see what there is to see..." you said in between bites.
Your mom got onto you for eating while talking and your dad laughed about it. "Well be careful, you don't know this area well so make sure you bring your phone just incase." Your dad said in a stern tone.
You nodded and finished the last bite of your donut. You got up and walked to the sink to wash off your plate, then walked back upstairs to your room.
You debated on what to wear for a minute but decided on this
