Florence smiled sarcastically at an excited Hermione as the two followed Mr Weasley; or Arthur as he had asked to her call him, and the rest of the group down a path.
It was a dense forest and although many people would be frustrated with the walk, Flo couldn't help but smile at the beauty and tranquility of the place. Well, when no one talked that was. The twins hadn't shut their fat gobs since the journey had started and Flo's eye twitched with the desire to tell them to shut up.
But it wasn't too long before the group rounded a corner and were met with two new faces."ARTHUR!" The older man of the two belted out as they all came to a stop before each other, Ginny coming over to stand with Flo and Hermione.
"It's about time son!"The two chuckled to each other as the group stood there awkwardly watching. "Sorry Amos! Some of us had a sleepy start!" And almost as if it were on queue, Ron let out a stifled yawn.
"This is Amos Diggory everyone, we work together at the Ministry."Flo and a few of the others nodded their heads towards Amos as he looked around the crowd and it wasn't long before a body jumped off a tree branch above them and onto the floor.
"This strapping young lad must be Cedric"
Hermione nudged Flo at that statement and Ginny giggled slightly under her breath as they all looked at Cedric. Sure Flo thought he was rather attractive and they were around the same age, but he just wasn't her type really; not that Flo really knew what her type was. And although the girls thought they were being quite subtle, their reactions gained and eye roll from Ron and a frown on Fred and George's faces.
The finally quiet walk only lasted for another twenty minutes before they all arrived at a green and overly grassy hill with a bung shoe sat atop of it. Flo's eyebrows furrowed as they walked up the hill and towards the shoe, for she had no idea how they were going to get to the Quidditch World Cup by that.
All crowding around said object in a wide circle Harry had almost read her mind. "Why are they all standing around a boot?"
Flo laughed as she was just as confused as he was, "a manky, old boot at that". But their comments seemed to go ignored by everyone, the two just shrugging at each other.
"That's not just any manky, old boot" Fred said as he smirked at Flo, walking closer to the shoe.
"It's a Port-Key!" George finished.
Flo rolled her eyes at their antics before turning to Harry,
"It's a Port-Key" She mimicked stupidly, causing the boy two years her junior to laugh. She had no real idea how she became friends with Harry and Ron. Flo believed it to be because she was friends with Hermione, and that itself was only the case because they studied together in the Library for so many hours and because Flo had no other friends at Hogwarts. Flo originally thought Hermione was a Ravenclaw because she'd never met a Gryffindor as determined to do well in their studies as her.
Flo would wave to her in the hallway and hang out with her at the Astronomy Tower as well, and eventually Harry and Ron would tag along.
Sure she got dragged into their antics a few times and she may have once or twice gotten them out of trouble but it was an honest friendship and a strange one too.
