Manus's POV

There I was, two billion nine hundred ninety-nine million nine hundred ninety-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-seven years ago, when I was nothing but a three year old. I had everything that I needed; wild fields, loop-de-loops and...well, three fathers. I was born...er...created with extraordinary powers, y'know, all of my fathers' powers but doubled. I was told to train and control these powers, and I have to say, I enjoyed harnessing my speed the most. Right now, well, back then right now, I was running through Green Hills with...my dad, Sonic. Man, he was such a great hedgehog, way better than Shadow. Well, I ran through Green Hills side by side with Sonic, keeping up to speed, then into town and knocked downed the door to his house and right into Shadow who was busy cleaning his rings, as usual. Shadow, my oldest father, was basically Vegeta...if Vegeta was a Hedgehog/Black Arms Hybrid.

"Manus...What have I told you about using hyper speed?" Shadow once asked me. To be honest with you guys, he is an edgelord for real.
"You told him to not use it," Sonic answered, walking into the house like nobody's business. "But, I was training him. Unlike you, who just sit there all day long cleaning those rings of yours."
"Well, you do know how important these are to me."
"But that shouldn't stop you from helping Manus here!"
"Guys, what's the big deal again?"
That's Silver, my third and youngest father. He was only fourteen, but I don't really care, a dad is a dad.
"Oh, hey Silver. I'm just having a nice, normal and totally-not an-argument conversation with Shadow here!"
Man, this is so normal.

That day was so normal up to the moment when Shadow saw the badniks behind me. That's when things went downhill, fast.
"Get down!" He yelled out, enveloped me inside his arms as the robots shot lasers into the house. Windows shattered as they tried to shoot me, and the rest of my dads. Shadow slammed the door shut as they began shooting. I didn't know what was going on that day, but one thing I remembered was how terrifying it was to see my family get hurt. Shadow let go of me and I was pushed into Silver's arms.
"Silver, take him and go!" Shadow ordered right before he got shot.
"Shadow!" I yelled out, reaching out for my father as Silver grabbed me and he took off with his Psychokinesis. We were flying, then suddenly Silver grunted and we fell down into the woods below. Silver got shot. I realised that when I saw the blood fly through the air as we fell.

I was terrified for my life that day, but most importantly, I was worried that Shadow and Sonic may be dead.
"Manus, listen," Silver spoke to me, getting up with agony. I can tell. "Your powers are by far the most extraordinary powers we have ever seen, which is why Eggman won't stop at nothing to get his hands on you."
Silver painfully took off one of his inhibitor rings and created a portal that lead to somewhere that I had never seen before. But, if I remembered correctly, that portal lead to Earth.
"Earth is far from our planet. Eggman won't be able to reach it without Chaos Control, you'll be safe."
"But I don't wanna go without you, without Shadow, without Sonic!"
"You must! This ring will be your most important possession."
Silver clipped his ring onto my wrist. It was heavy alright, but it was for a good reason. Silver looked past me and saw the badniks inching closer as we stood.
"If you're ever discovered, take it off and use your powers to their full potential. Open a portal and move forward." Silver pushed me closer to the portal. I didn't want to go, but then my father made me. "Promise me, Manus. Promise me you won't stop running."
"I won't." Then I ran through the portal. I decided to take one last peek at Silver, but what I saw made me ran back.

Silver stood in fighting position, ready to take on that entire army of robots.
"Silver!" I called out, running back towards the open portal.
"Goodbye, Manus." Silver smiled as I rushed to get closer. And just when I had reached the portal, it vanished.
"No!" I yelled out, but one thing's for sure, Silver is gone...
I have never been the same since...
