Chapter 06: In the Great Hall for breakfast

Ginny's P.O.V

"Hey Hermione, can I ask you a question and do you know what the time is?" I said  and asked after a while as Hermione and I finish putting the last of my things that were on my bed into my trunk. "Yeah sure Ginny and it is 8 o'clock in the morning. Why's that Ginny?" Hermione said at first and asked the the last bit still sitting on my bed. "Are you coming to stay with us at the Burrow? I'm just starving that's all. I haven't eaten since lunch yesterday. Oh no, why does it have it to be today." I asked at first then said the last bit while taking down my calendar seeing that my period was due today. "Yes I am. I know, I'm starving too and is everything ok Ginny?" Hermione asked with a worried look on her face. "It's that time of the month. My cramps are starting to get bad, not what I'm uses too. Let's just go down to the Great Hall and get breakfast." I said walking to the bathroom to put a pad on. "Ok. Ready to meet the boys then, Ginny. I won't tell the boys that you are on your period, ok. But Ron and Harry might know though from being with me for 9 months." Hermione said heading to the door, I think. "Ok. What do I do if Harry sees me holding my stomach at breakfast? What if Harry asks me why I'm holding my stomach? What if he asks why I'm not eating and just playing with my food?" I said getting really worried and starting to have tears running down my face. "We'll figure something out, ok. Don't you worry about a thing. Harry will understand, ok Ginny." Hermione said as we went down the stair from the 6th year girls dormitory. We walked to the common room and we see Ron and Harry talking before Hermione cleared her throat. Harry and Ron turned around and their mouths dropped. "Ready to eat breakfast boys and close your mouths too, it's really not necessary." Hermione said walking over to Ron and kissing him on the lips. I walked over to Harry and gave him a peck on the lips as I wanted to eat. "Let's go Gin. They will catch up." Harry whispered then taking my hand and interlocked our fingers. We walked out of the portrait quietly so that Ron and Hermione can have some alone time and so I can have some alone time with Harry. My cramps got even worse with every step I took, and I unconsciously put my hand on my stomach. "Is everything ok, love." Harry asked with a worry look on his face and in his voice. I can tell that Harry had seen me putting my hand on my stomach. "I'm just hungry Harry, I haven't eaten since lunch yesterday." I said trying not to tell Harry that I'm on my period. "We are nearly at the Great Hall so, just hold on a little longer, ok love." Harry said still looking and sounding worried. "Ok. Can I ask you something Harry?" I asked trying to find a way to ask him. "Sure Gin." Harry said walking into the Great Hall hand in hand with me. "Are you coming to the Burrow with us? Hermione said that she was going to stay with us." I said pouring out some cereal into my bowl knowing that I'm probably not going to eat it. "If you want me to, then yes. I will stay with you at the Burrow, love." Harry said kissing my check. "Yes. I'll ask mum and dad if you and Hermione can swap rooms when we get back to the Burrow." I said starting to play with my food. "Are you sure you are ok, Gin." Harry said putting his hand on my thigh. I let out a sigh. 'It's now or never' I thought to myself. "I got my period this morning when I was talking with Hermione." I said in Harry's ear as I didn't want everyone that was in the Great Hall knowing. "Oh Gin, you could have said something. Plus I thought that was it when you were holding your stomach." Harry said pulling me into a hug. "Please don't tell Ron that I'm on my period, it's bad enough you know. But these cramps are really killing me though." I said clutching my stomach again. "Here have some of this, love." Harry said putting a peace of chocolate into my mouth. "Thank you, hun." I said giving Harry a kiss on the cheek. "No problem, love. Feeling better Gin?" Harry asked holding my hand. "Aren't you feel well little sis?" Ron asked as he sat down on the other side of the table. "Honestly Ronald, just leave your little sister alone." Hermione said slapping Ron in the back of the head as she sat down next to him. "Fine, I'll leave my baby sister alone." Ron said pouring out some cereal into a bowl. "Here Harry give this to her." Hermione said nodding her head towards me. "Ok Hermione." Harry said grabbing the bottle from Hermione and placing it in my hand. "What took you guys so long to get down here anyway?" Harry asked as I took the lid of the bottle and put some on a clean spoon and drank it. "You need to drink the entire bottle Ginny. It will help you." Hermione said as I put the spoon on the table and started drinking whatever was in the bottle. "Are you sure it's safe to drink the entire bottle, Hermione." Harry asked holding my hand as I didn't like the taste of the potion. "Yes, it is Harry. I drank it while we were away remember." Hermione said though gritted teeth. "Right." Harry said smiling. "Yuck. What was that, Hermione? It was absolutely disgusting?" I said making a disgusting face. "I'll tell you that later. But do you feel any better Ginny?" Hermione asked starting to eat her cereal. "Yeah. I feel a lot better thank you, Hermione." I said smiling at Hermione. "You're welcome Ginny. Now eat up we still have to get your books into your trunk Ginny." Hermione said taking some toast and eating it. "That's what I forgot. Thanks Hermione." I said finishing my breakfast. "Ron and I will start putting things back to normal while Hermione helps you, Gin, finish packing to go home today." Harry said pulling my hand into his, interlocking our fingers and rubbing his thumb up and down my hand. "That's a great idea, love." I said kissing Harry's cheek. "Ready to go then, Ginny?" Hermione asked looking at me. "Yeah, see you later honey and Ron." I said kissing Harry on the lips while Hermione kissed Ron on the lips, I think. "Bye little sis. Bye babe." Ron said pulling away from Hermione. "Bye Hermione. Bye love. We will talk later ok, Gin." Harry said winking at me and I can feel my face going red. "Ok love." I said standing up and letting go of Harry's hand while Hermione did the same thing and we walked out of the Great Hall in silence. "What was that all about, Ginny?" Hermione asked after a while as we walked up the marble staircase. "I don't know, Hermione. But I told Harry that I was on my period. Hermione, Harry know that I was on my period." I said with fear in my voice. "That's good Ginny. It tells me that Harry is there for you even if you are in pain. What books do we need to get Ginny?" Hermione said and asked stopping at the staircases that move. "Well, I need to grab Charms, Care of magical creatures, Defences Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Arithmancy, Muggle studies, Transfiguration, potions, Divination, Ancient Runes, History of magic and Quidditch. I completely agree with you, Hermione." I said walking up the staircase to the charms classroom with Hermione.
