Chapter 4

Jungkook pov

I woke up to the bright sun shining into my room and I noticed I was in my own bed. Yoongi hyung must've brought me home last night. At first, I was confused that I wasn't waking up to another member telling me to hurry up and get ready but then I remembered the next couple days are free days, but knowing how hard working the members are they'll probably be in the Bighit building all day anyways.

I got up from my bed and stretched and made my way to the kitchen. I couldn't smell any food so Jin hyung probably took a day off from breakfast duty too. As I walked lazily in the hallway with messy hair and squinting eyes, I could hear the sound of the tv. I didn't care enough to listen to what it was saying but it sounded like some newscaster lady.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Hoseok eating a banana at the breakfast bar with Jimin eating a bowl of cereal next to him and the rest of the members were on the couch in front of the tv. I opened the fridge to see what my "breakfast" options were, still not caring enough to listen to the tv.

"YAH JUNGKOOKAH," yelled Taehyung.

"What?" I mumbled, followed by a yawn.

"REMEMBER WHEN YOU USED TO SAY I WAS STUPID FOR THINKING VAMPIRES ARE REAL AND MADE FUN OF ME FOR WATCHING VAMPIRE HORROR MOVIES? WELL LOOK WHOS LAUGHING NOW!!" he yelled while pointing at the tv, smiling.

What's his problem now??

I made my way into the living room sat on the couch and looked at the tv. Then I read the headline:

BREAKING NEWS: VAMPIRE CORPSE FOUND IN HONG KONG, VAMPIRES ARE REAL?

My eyes widened.

What?? That's impossible. Vampires everywhere never just leave a corpse for humans to find its our, their tradition. It's rare for a vampire to even be killed in the first place so nobody would just leave it somewhere humans could find it. I listened to the newscaster.

"Last night at about 11:50 pm, a corpse was found in Cheung Chau, about an hour from Hong Kong. However, this corpse has unusually long canines, red eyes, and black veins all over the body. Many seem to believe the body is a vampire. The Hong Kong government have yet to comment on the issue. Hong Kong officials are meeting with officials of 25 countries to discuss what to do next. Many are suspecting that if all these countries are meeting, this creature must really not be human. This begs the question: How many more vampires are there? Where are they living? It is important to stay calm as we wait for official statements.

The tv showed the picture of the "vampire" and well.. it was definitely one of us. Then the fear set in. Humans know we exist. After thousands of years of only myths about our existence, they have evidence. It's not too long before they find out we live in Korea too. I felt sick to my stomach.

"Wah this is crazy," said Namjoon, with wide eyes.

"You really think it's a vampire?" asked Taehyung with a hint of fear, different from the giant smile he had on his face previously.

"Well I mean that obviously isn't human," said Jin.

"Jungkookie what do you think?" Yoongi asked me, who has been oddly quiet during this whole conversation.

I tried to stop my nervous fidgeting.

"Well I um I mean it's just a picture you can't really base off of just that but like I mean it could be real if it is it'd be scary but it's probably not," I rambled quickly. Wow. So slick Jungkook.

Yoongi didnt reply, just nodded his head and turned back to the tv. I put my head down.
A thought then occurred to me, the vampires won't know about this. Vampires live in isolation form the human world, except from going out to hunt. They are not gonna know to be more careful. As much as I hate my old life and family, I can't just watch them get exposed and hunted.
