the element of hope

The box

I woke up to the sound of metal gears turning and agents scraping agents the cement walls. 

I looked around to see where I was and I was in a box! I had a pounding headache with this ringing in my ers this woman's voice saying the same thing over and over again WCKD is good. I couldn't remember the girl's name oh my god I couldn't even remember my own name I didn't know how old I was, what I looked like, how I got here I couldn't remember anything! 

I was in there for what felt like hours. Then I realize there was something on my neck. A locket? I opened the locket and inside was a picture of a girl and a boy I somehow knew that I was the girl and that the boy was my brother. it was weird because I somehow knew his name but I didn't know mine. the little boy was adorable he had brown hair and he was a little fat but that didn't bother me. just know ing that I had someone who cared about me was enough. his name, was chuck. 

It felt like I was in this box for another hour and then it just stopped moving I saw a beam of light shine through and I saw about 50 boys staring down at me. All of them where different races hights ages. then a boy came down with a rope.

"Its a girl!" the boy shouted 

everyone above my started whispering, talking and shouting stupid comments like 

"is she cute?" one boy said 

"I call dibs," a different doy said 

then I don't know where I cot this sense of anger or protectives but shouted back to them 

"Yeah I'm cute to cute for you"

then the whole crowd of boys got silent

"and you can't call dibs on me I'm a human, not an object"

the whole crowd of boys looked at me in shock like I just discovered the most amazing thing in the world. the boy who was in the box with me looked at me and gave me a look of respect 

"Welcome to the glade, the  names Alby,"  He said

Alby had dark skin he was very tall and looked about seventeen.

"Do you remember anything? how this might of happened to you, how you got here?" he asked 

then it hit me I remember a few things 

"yes," I said 

the crowd of boys above me stared in shock and some of them gasped.

"Ok well what do you remember?" 

I hesitated for a second 

"I remember water and feeling like I was drowning, and I remember fire famine and disease and I remember these people telling me I was different than I was special" i paused for a moment "that I was dangerous" 

I looked up to see all the boys looking at me in disbelief some of them with their mouth hanging open 

"I remember I have a brother" 

then I started playing with the locket on my neck

"and this woman's voice saying the same thing over and over again WCKD is good"

I paused for a moment thinking about if I should tell them and how I should 

"and I remember I can do this"

I stuck out my hand in front of me and concentrated really hard and I knew some of the boys were looking at me like I was stupid 

"what in the bloody hell are you do-" 

I'm pretty sure his name was newt he was cut off by an orange flame of fire erupting in my hand.
