I was driving along the icy winter road on my way to NYC to sign a contract with a new artist to schedule all of his engagements and showings. I was running low on gas so I pulled over and got out of the car. My phone rang and I knew at once it was Lynette. The artist that I was signing the deal with tomorrow had been considering Lynette's buisness, I had pulled her out of Lynette's grasp at the last possible chance and Lynette was furious. Before I answered my cell I saw an old man staring at me with a sad expression on his face. I went inside to pay and when I returned to my car he said to me;
-You young folk are always on those cell phones
I nodded and started to get into my car, but before i closed the door he asked me my name, I said Carrie. When i was stepping into my car he told me; "Carrie remember the roads are icy, you shouldn't talk on the phone while you're driving you could get into in accident." I told him that I had been driving these roads for years and I knew what to expect, he bowed his head in disappointment and said softly,
"I warned you" and disappeared behind his car.
As soon as I was on the road who should call but Lynette, as always she started with "hello darling", she proceeded to inform me that the way i stole "her" client was sneaky and underhanded, i told her for the millionth time that sneaky and underhanded is what i do best she laughed forcefully and thats when i saw it. I had failed to notice that there was black ice in front of me and i didn't have enough time to stop. My phone went barreling out of my hand as i struggled to get control of the car. I couldn't do it, the last thing I remember is a shattering impact of me being thrown out of the car into a tree, the blinding lights of my car blaring into my eyes before pitch black darkness, came over me.
