"Mommy!" My childhood voice echoed.
The woman on the bedroom floor continued to cry and sniffle. Her head was bowed down with her hair as a veil shielding her tears from me.
"Mommy what's wrong? Why are you crying?" I watched as her back went up and down.
"It's going to be ok! I love you mommy." I spoke lowly.
I felt arms wrap around my body and my shoulder was wet from her face. She held me tightly. My arms were in pain but I didn't want to say anything. She needed me.
I felt her head raise up and she locked eyes with me. The sadness in them brought tears to my eyes.
Out of nowhere, she pushed me and I fell.
I fell into darkness as her image grew further away. I tried to call out to her but no sound escaped my lips.
I landed on a black floor.
Everything was dark.
My limbs are heavy and cold.
It took everything I had in me to stand up.
Exhausted, I slowly walked through the darkness. I was met with a random door and I turned the knob to walk inside.
There were monitors across the wall on the other side of the room. Each screen played a memory of mine.
When I met Donovan, my father and I in the bathroom talking, Hunter and I getting married, Luke walking into the apartment in Paris, Sapphire modeling my clothes, Luke asking me to sleep with him at his place, and many more. I walked up to the keyboard and reached out to press a button.
The whole room went black and then the middle screen flashed red. It began to play all of my worst memories and once it finished it repeated them faster and faster each time. My body trembled in fear as I screamed for it to stop but it wouldn't. I shut my eyes and shook my head no as I heard the gun shots, tires screeching, and my name being yelled.
"I refuse. I refuse to be a victim of my past. I refuse to be weak. I refuse to be helpless! I refuse to be hunted down like a small, weak, bitch! I refuse to let MEN control me! I refuse to be lied to! I won't tolerate any of this! No more will the people I love be taken away from me! FUCK YOU! FUCK ALL OF YOU! I WON'T BACK DOWN! YOU WANT TO PLAY DIRTY, YOU WANT BLOODSHED, YOU WANT A BATTLE... I'LL GIVE YOU A WAR!" My voice is hoarse as I screamed.
