Chapter 10

~timeskip to Wednesday~

Sam was off a ventilator and could walk place to place, he smiles as the doctors help him out of the bed. He felt like he was actually cared for, for once. He finally gets the papers so he could leave. His mom was there as Sam signed them.

'Colby is coming over to our house to get tutored. You're never going to Colby's house, I think I'm just gonna pull you out of that tutoring program.'

She says as Sam sighed, looking at his mom.

'What happened?'

He asks as his brother looks back at Sam.

'Colby was the one who put you outside.'

Sam's mom looks at Sam's brother, she gasped as she covers her mouth.

'How do you know Ben?'

She asked Sam's brother, Ben chuckles as he looks at her.

'He told me..I'll keep an eye on their study session.'

Sam felt the tears brim his eyes as he sniffles, he never felt more betrayed in his life. He fiddled with his long sleeves as he stares at the floor of the car. He was extremely scared to see Colby after what his brother Ben said. Once they arrived Sam got out of the car and back into his house for the first time in days. He smiles as he walks to his room as he prepared for Colby coming over. He felt scared knowing what he knew. Colby finally arrived as he knocked on the door. Sam's mom lets him in as she eyes him the whole time, Colby gets confused as he greets Sam's mom happily. He takes his shoes off as he walks to upstairs as he walks into Sam's room. He smiles as he walks towards Sam trying to give him a hug as Sam walks backwards, Colby looks down at Sam as he felt his heart completely shatter in his chest. He sighs as he walks over to the bed as he felt his heart pound uncomfortably as Sam sat next to him grabbing a book as he read the book, explaining certain material. Once their hours were done Sam closes the textbook as he stayed quiet.

'Sam why aren't you talking to me.'

He says as Sam just stays quiet, Colby lifts Sam's chin up as Ben bursts in as he grabs Colby wrists as he slams him against the wall harshly. Colby wanted to fight Ben but he knew it'll make Sam more sad. He slowly grabs his bag as he leaves, he walks downstairs and leaves, Sam gets up as he pushes Ben out of his room. He slides down the wall as his memory started coming back slowly. He remembered the night as he got in bed with Colby but nothing after that. He sighs as he looks off to the side, he got up as he got ready for bed. He lays down in his bed as he yawns, falling asleep. The next morning he wakes up from his arm, usually he would expect texts from Colby but he saw none. Sam ran his fingers through his hair as he starts getting ready for school, he walks downstairs and out the door as he sees Colby and his sister at the bus stop looking as if they had stayed up the entire night, and their faces looked quite odd. It was whatever Sam thought until they started getting on the bus as Colby had to get help stepping on the stairs as Sam felt the worry rise up in him.

"Oh god."

He whispers quietly as gets to his seat. He was supposed to have a study session with Colby that day which made him concerned and afraid he was going to give in to talking to Colby but he couldn't help himself.

~timeskip to the end of the day~

Colby was in class when the dismissal bell rung, he sighs as he walks down to the library as he walks quite slowly, he walks inside as he walks over to one of the tables in the back. He sets his things down as Sam walks in, once he walked closer to Colby he dropped his thing seeing their was makeup on his face, he sits Colby down as he grabs a tissue whipping away the makeup near his lip as a huge red split was uncovered as he gasps.

"No no no no no."

He says quietly as he starts wiping the makeup around his eye as he saw the black eye. He slowly lifted Colby's shirt as he sees a bunch of purple bruises all over his stomach as he lets out a cry.

"Colby who did this to you."

Colby looks up at Sam with an annoyed expression.

'The same person who put you outside...'

He says as Sam felt all the memories flood back as he heard Colby's dad's voice whisper in his ear.

'No son of mine will fall for a faggot like you'

"Holy shit."

Sam says quietly as colby sighs.

'Better news I'm moving next week..out of the neighborhood..'

He says as Sam covers his mouth shaking his head.

"I'm so sorry colby."

He says as Colby relived what happened Wednesday night, once he got home his dad was completely wasted. He saw his drunk dad walking towards him as he throws Colby against the wall as he falls to the floor breathing heavily. Colby's dad repeatedly kicked Colby in the chest, his sister runs in trying to stop him but he hit her over the head with a beer bottle.

'Dumb bitch.'

He scowls as his mom walks inside, she stayed quiet as she lit a cigarette watching. Once his dad and mom were out of the room Colby got up as he held his stomach tightly as he walks over to his sister and helps her out as well. They both limp to Colby's room as he locks the door, he walks towards the bed as he sits down pulling his sister into his arms as they stayed up all night afraid of their father bursting into the room.

Colby shudders thinking about it as he grabs his bag.

'A little too late for that. Plus my mom is setting me up on a date with Abigail.'
